You must be on a wind up. A few weeks ago you had me bang to rights for a minor motoring infringement involving the last 5 metres of a bus lane. Here you are defending thousands of lawbreakers illegally parking in their hundreds, ruining farmland and livelihoods, scaring animals and letting them wander, and looking at the 50 or so arrests, indirectly condoning the drunk and drug driving that inevitably follows.

Not on a wind up my arse. Either that or your opinion blows around with the wind.

I still take issue with the drink driving thing. Look at the papers in December and see how many are being done each weekend. The police are there to catch anyone breaking the law, whether it is a raver on a comedown or a builder driving home after 10 pints. That is what they are there for

Zap was the best club in Brighton though, had some fantastic nights in there over the 90s.

I was a member for a few years in the 90s, mainly Fridays but the odd Saturday. Remember almost having the place to myself when Blake Baxter played because Rampling was on at the Escape. A year later Rampling was Friday Zap resident

For an added bonus Chesney Hawkes swore at me on the weekend of Love Parade.

Both great clubs at that time.
When did Audio start up? That was a good night. Used to go there in the early to mid 00’s. Think it’s called Patterns now.

That was the Escape originally ?

never got into the club scene, at least not that kind of music, have gigged in them all though over the years. Gigged with Menswear in the Zap, saw Paul Weller there early 90's too.

No he isn't.

Sadly his humour is influenced by being in Germany ergo not funny but he is definitely not a wind up.

Thank you, appreciated.

As an aside, I guess this is what they call a back handed compliment :lolol:

100% agree. In my local there's a bunch of tradesmen referred to as the Friday Afternoon 5 n Drive Club. All have at least 5 pints and drive their vans home. Dunno if any have ever been caught.

Disclaimer: You don't have to be a tradesman to drink & drive on a Friday afternoon.....

I was never a huge club-head in the sense that I lived for the weekend, Human Traffic style. It was just a time when pubs closed at midnight and we’d want to have another drink and spend a bit of energy. But I wasn’t a dancer or a club-nut. It was either go to a club or go home. So we headed to a club.
These days it’s “go home”, for sure ! :)

They never stop illegal fox hunting but funnily they come down hard on hare coursing - I wonder why that is.

Likewise, we used to go to the Basement, Joint , Sister Rays early 90's, and sometimes the Gloucester. I'm sure there were others I have long since forgotten!

I wasn't a member but that must have been fantastic.
I had some great nights in the escape,Concorde, beachcomber etc but a night at a the zap always felt like a proper big club experience.
It's interesting you mention chesney hawkes.
I was going to post something about often seeing celebrities and musicians at raves and clubs in the 90s and they just seemed to mingle with everyone else it was quite a good time for music creators, organisers and ravers all just being part of the scene.
It seemed to change as we headed towards a more commercial club ,festival, rave experience with VIP areas etc.
Great times
