Farmers are mostly money oriented…….if they were approached in advance most would I suspect happily let the raves happen on their land for a few quid. Organise them properly and clear up after and there’s no harm done
Yep.

Except the Tories have banned all festivals , clubs , etc since March 2020 with no end in sight
Good question. Maybe the same way that people who live in remote-ish towns and villages do? Must happen all over the country? How does a teen living in Piddinghoe and wanting to go clubbing in Brighton get home? And his parents who want a nice dinner with some wine?

The post I responded to said there aren't riots or murders, I posted a link from the BBC news front page about a murder at a rave, without even doing any research, I just read it earlier when I checked the news. A murder that happened in the last 24 hours, at a rave. It was a direct rebuttal of the point made. I can see now however this conversation is about to become circular, so we'll leave it there. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
That’s because they encourage free thinking and the gathering of creative minds. All the things Tory’s feel threatened by. Obviously Covid is the cause this time but no need to still be closed. Tory’s always have an anti gathering agenda and always pass laws to disrupt them.
As a former police officer said “the quickest way to start a riot is to stop a protest”. Okay, it’s not protest, it’s partying but both annoy and threaten Tory’s .
Anyone our age (I'm 47, guessing you must be similar) had the best of times early to mid 90s with clubs and drugs
Did the two events you've mentioned above (at the Event!) religiously for about a year, that progressed to The Zap for banging Friday nights until (stupid o'clock some nights) late.
Best of times, it really was..............if you were into the music and drugs that is
I'm exactly the same, I went for the glamping experience at Glasto couple of years ago, my days of roughing it are overMe too! I’d still enjoy the party but I couldn’t think of any thing worse than trudging off a field at 7am with nothing but a long way home and a three day come-down to look forward to.
Sitting round a pub table with good mates and good beer will do me very nicely indeed these days and has done since my early thirties!
Yes,castle Morton put the fear of God into the government.
I can just imagine Michael Howard getting his briefing from his master's.
"40,000 people doing what they want and living as free people and authorities powerless to stop them?we need to criminilse this behaviour quickly before they realise it's them that has the power not us"
Fast forward 30 years and the conservatives are still at it.
Think the real issue here is drugs and drink driving, got no issues with kids enjoying themselves and having fun. Why can't they enjoy themselves without the use of these. Police are right to arrest those people and the organisers as their action cause the law breaking. Feel for young people though as it must be so frustrating not being able to go anywhere to dance/rave, but stay off the drugs please kids.

As someone who worked in the nightlife industry for 10 years - you'd much rather have a crowd off their tits on E than pissed up beer drinkers
