If I did win , unlikely cos I have never done it, I would try to set up some kind of scheme where I could buy up the ‘ first rung on the ladder’ type properties, and unlike the profiteers, do them up to a reasonable standard and sell them to young people who are priced out of the market atm, for a very reduced price.

I’d also donate a good lump to the RNLI.

... who, like many people who bought their cut-price council houses will promptly sell them as soon as possible for a massive profit, thus drawing up the ladder behind them even further, just as happened with flogging off the council houses (although admittedly with only £195M to throw away, you couldn't do as much damage as 80s politicians did).

That is obscene, it should be broken down into 10 draws with 10 x £19.5M prizes.
Bad news for charities then. £19M - buy a nice house, buy a house - or pay off the mortgages - for the kids and maybe one or two special friends, put enough in trust to set up the grandkids for life. A decent car. A couple of expensive holidays - and maybe a couple of nights with very high class 'escorts' (well why not if you're old and not very pretty with a bit of an expanding wasteline?) - and that's 10-15 million accounted for. The rest for charity.

£195M - and most of it goes to charity (at least, it would for most of us, who wouldn't know what to do, or want to do anything else, wth it after enjoying the above).

The top prize is capped!

What is it capped at?

Edit, just seen the info!

OK then it should be capped at a much much lower amount.

The idea of increasing the number of winners surely only works if enough people choose the right numbers?

I like the idea that was suggested of 10 draws with a prize of £19.5 million.

Most of it being donated to charity eh, delusional mate.
Some speculate about doing this if they won, would be interesting to find out how many actually do it.

Really? Would you want to go round worrying about your family if somebody found out you were sitting on £150M you didn't know what to do with, but definately wanted to keep your kids/grandkids/other relations alive and in one piece?.....and if that somebody knew where they went to school, where they played, shopped, etc. Or just worked out that you were well worth robbing?

It's more delusional to think that most normal (i.e. not already super-rich) people wouldn't want to get it to a more comfortable level ASAP. Many people dream about what they would do - speculate if you like - so the odds are that most of them, if their dreams came true, would do just that.
