Android App Recommendations

Having taken the plunge and moved from an iPhone to the Nexus 4, I just wondered if anyone on Android had any apps they would recommend for me to try. Also any I should absolutely avoid would be good to

The Trainline app is superb. Saved huge amounts booking in advance for brighton games coming from croydon but above all it's so quick and user friendly. Even if you ony travel infrequently i'd recommend it.

I don't find that's needed with the recent versions of Android. I just get into the habit of closing apps from the home screen by holding down the button, my battery lasts ages now (unless Skype is running, which seems to eat up power).


XBox Smartglass - If you've got an XBox this is quite a nifty app for controlling it and giving you information.

Great suggestions - thanks! Unfortunately am suffering the curse of the early adopter and some apps aren't yet compatible with Android 4.2 - including iPlayer and SkyGo
