Two wonderful pieces of theatre today on the show.

1) A lovely, moving rendition of The Last Post.

2) Andrew ripping Emily Thornberry a new one and the tight lipped expression of fury on her face at the end of the conversation.

As a drowning socialist, I was embarrassed by both JC’s attire at one of the most important occasions in the last 100 years as well as Emma’s performance. I consider myself left of centre and homeless......
Would really like to see KS come to the fore.

Isn’t it traditional for Labour leaders to wear socialist type attire at these high profile events, it makes them stand out from the rest, remember Michael Foot all those years ago at the Cenotaph.

Yes, and remember how well that went - thousands of traditional Labour voters just couldn't bring themselves to vote for him to become PM, and we had more years of Thatcher.

The likes of Thornberry and Abbott are doing the same job very effectively this time round.

God. Imagine being so shallow you’re embarrassed by someone’s attire.

I'm with you scouse, I'm centre left and have no idea where I now live politically. Corbs is too lefty for me and the posh boys are too busy planting their inherited posh boy cutlery set in Theresa s back to give a ukcf about the rest of us.

Its not embarrassment, its about respect and being apppropriate.

And what, wearing a coat in the wet and cold isn’t respect? If I were you I’d be less concerned about the way he dresses for the weather, and more concerned about government policies that have directly banished veterans to a life of mental health issues and sleeping on the streets. Not to mention the self proclaimed Christian, Mrs. May, laying a wreath while simultaneously selling arms to Saudi Arabia to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent children.

And for all you know he wore a practical coat for his needs ,if like in previous years he intends to stay out in the cold and maybe wet to talk to the veterans and their needs. Unlike other MPs who have done their PR bit for today.

I get your point about selling arms, but what do you do if you actually work in one of these industries manufacturing these items for the government, do you quit your job.

Being a veteran myself, I wouldn't have any idea why he wore tthe coat in question, but I do know that government policy does not condemn all servicement to a life of mental ill health, its too general a statement to make. REgarding the sale ceasation of sales of munitions, you need to speak to the Labour Mps in Chorley and other Bae Systems locations to guage their opinion, not on here.
