terrible shame , him slipping away like that.
For some reason I thought he died years ago........but not so, so RIP to Martin. It's hard to know which is thebiggest achievment for Andrew Gold....the theme to 'The Golden Girls' or 'Build a Bridge to Your Heart'....I'll go with the latter as I'm a bit of a 10CC fan so RIP Andrew.Martin Rushent RIP
Producer of Human League 'DARE' LP, which of course included their breakthrough hit 'Don't you want me'
Also produced The Buzzcocks on their great records too

You may be thinking about Martin Hannett, who died at 42 in 1991 - another punk and post punk producer
I wouldnt say dont you want me was a " breakthrough" hit, they had two top ten hits before that .Martin Rushent RIP

open your heart/love action/being boiled all top 10 before dont you want me , also sound of the crowd no 12 before dont you want me as well. They did? What were they? I was abroad so must have missed the UK charts at the time. Are we talking about tunes off the same LP?
That’s what I thought as wellMore a 70's artist for me.. I think that's when he had most of his success.. though i stand to be corrected.
