I think you're missing out on an awful lot in your life if you have never experienced hats. They can keep your head warm in winter or the sun out of your eyes in summer. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colours. Give them a try and you'll never look back. (Don't forget, just because you put one on your head doesn't mean you can't take it off again, it's not a permanent feature).
ho ho ho , best i get some rubber pants in case i piss myself laughing !!

Henman deserves credit for raising the bar in British men's tennis. Murray's first goal is to try and reach a Grand Slam final - something that Henman never managed to do.

To do this at any grand slam he will have to beat either Federer or Nadal, and to win the thing he will probably have to beat both.

Only in the UK could the No. 12 seed beating the No. 8 seed in 5 sets be front page news - this is an example of how desperate us Brits are for tennis success, but part of the reason we've had NO success is precisely because Murray IS on the front pages at a premature stage of the tournament.

It is only in England that a nation will celebrate someone beating the TENTH best player in the world as one of the greatest achievements of thelast decade.

Yes it was a good match, but he won nothing, much like "The Golden Generation" of English football that managed to beat Germany 5-1, draw 2-2 with Greece, and played so well in a thrilling 0-0 draw at home to Macedonia. Their reward is being worshipped by all who watch the sport and get paid £50,000 a week for the privilidge.

At the end of the day, we have to face facts and the only sports we will consistently be at the top of world rankings are PUB sports like pool, darts, snooker - and they dont count as sports as you have to wear proper shoes

Trousers, it's better when you keep your posts short, this whole Murray thing has clearly led to some major losing of the plot.

We got very excited about the Ashes because in effect it made us (albeit very temporarily as it turned out) world champions. Australia were/are the best.

We got very pissed off at losing 5-0 because we played utter, utter shite, like a team who thought once was enough and had been partying for 18 months, while the Aussies were desperate to get them back.

And I think you've completely missed the point about Henman as well. It's not so much him that was the problem. He was a very good player. It's the coverage he got, and the type of 'fan' of his found at Wimbledon (in general terms) that grated everyone's shit, plus simpering interviews with long-time family friend Sue Barker. There comes a point where you just can't take any more, and he copped a lot of flak personally for some external things that weren't his fault. Probably did an advert or two too many, but he wasn't the first to make that mistake.

Spot on. f*** me Diggers, I was only JOKING yesterday afternoon. You protest too much. Every other post of yours is another tiresome bunch of anti English drivel and you flounce and rant the minute ANYONE takes the piss out a Scot. Have a fücking word.

I will post what I like when I like and how I like. I do not care what you think Tooting, Simster, Nibble or anyone else. You expound your opinions and suggestions as to what we should all be doing to make the world better - I care not a jot what you think you ghastly ineffectual little twit

Oooh, you certainly know how to HURT me. What with your opinion and existence clearly so much more relevant and worthwhile than mine, for all the many reasons you've outlined. :dunce:

Coming on what is a predominately English message board and peddling your anti-English drivel and getting off as lightly as you have, you should be grateful instead of getting all huffy.

Now hush while we take the rest of your natural resources. And we'll have all the salmon as well, while we're at it.

Ha ha. Of course you do. Why else would you come to a messageboard and post these chip-on-shoulder threads?!
be fair, it's not ALL about the Scotch chip on his shoulder. He's equally at home with comedy "the trouble with this country" Daily Mail headline rants about crime, responsibility, the workshy, excessive immigration, how it wasn't like that when he was a boy and how Labour have taken the country away from him - just like most jocks eminating from the grizzled northern gritty towns like, erm, Tunbridge Wells. :D

And also, the numerous posts that explain in fine detail about why his posts are more relevant and worthwhile than everybody elses.

Fairs fair, the Scots like deep fried food with everything, so it's no surprise they carry one round

OK - hands up - Simster, NIbble et al you have just made my laugh out loud. It's all a bit of banter.

Just one observation - I do not eminate from Tunbridge Wells - I simply filled in the box that says location - that happens to be my location currently.

And my posts are not all rants - but that is surely part and parcel of being able to post on here.

And after 5 years of being on here I have also posted some non ranting comments about non Scottish / English issues.

But I accept the majority of recent posts have been of this ilk.

But the FACT remains that I am better than most people generally and especially the majority of people on here

I quite agree. Most people, but sadly for you, not me. I think we can agree that I am actually slightly better than you, afterall.

And now that's all cleared up, it only remains for the mods to make this thread GOLD.

I'm afraid I am. Sorry.

And now it's that time once more when you should know your place and jog on.
