An alternative for those not wanting to 'donate' money

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling slightly uncomfortable with the notion of simply giving the club money with nothing really in return (yes your name on a seat is nice, but not great). Firstly because I can't afford to shell out £250 just like that and also because it is, whichever way you look at it, tantamount to begging on the clubs part.

However, I have no problem with helping to raise money for the club, and I don't mind paying out money if I know I'm going to get something for it. Selfish perhaps, but true nonetheless.

So here's my latest idea. Buy something from the club shop in the next month that you perhaps weren't planning on getting. It could be anything from a replica shirt to a mouse mat, but everything with help the club and you get something as well.

It's simple but if one hundred people spent an average of £10 that's a grand, just like that.

precisely. a good idea but the club's profit margin won't be all that close to 100%! Unless they are nicking all the stuff and then selling it of course. And getting the shop and staff for free.

Of course, I'll want something else in November, so they'll be getting two lots of cash. Its not just moving the payment.

I think that this is a great idea and if the INSIDER answers my question on the club forum then maybe the shop and commercial side can generate some more income.

Perhaps if they had brought out a decent home kit this season then more people would had bought it hence making the club a lot more money.

The board say have sold "record numbers" of the new kit but that is just bollocks. I have never seen so few fans wearing the home shirt as they do now.
