Off there in August - any recommendations for hotels? Not too fussed about being totally central, as the tram network's decent.

Been browsing the net, and can't get one for less than £95 per night...

3* plus please - I like a certain amount of comfort !!

If you can stand staying in a chain, I have seen deals on the Ibis hotel website for €69 double (ibis Hotels: book a hotel online for a business trip or a vacation) - there are three or four of them in Amsterdam, including one right by the Centraal Station. You may need to book and pay some way in advance to get that price though.

In general Amsterdam hotels are overpriced and often booked out months in advance due to a shortage of rooms (which keeps the prices up). You might want to consider staying in Haarlem, which is a pretty nice town 20 minutes away by regular train.
