Sorry if fixtures.....

Tommy Elphick mentioned on Late kick off last night that the Amex pitch would be the biggest in all professional leagues in England. Was not aware of this until now.
Can anyone confirm this in any way???
My understanding is as follows....... F.A. pitch lengths must be 100-130 yards, widths must be 50-100 yards. Man City currently have the biggest at 116 x 77.
Thoughts? Comments? Corrections?

i heard it was either same sized as wembley or very close to it. if we can keep up our current style of play and spread the ball on the deck out wide, the amex could become a massive fortress

England
Wembley 115 x 75
Eastlands 116 x 77. The largest in England.

from what i remember i believe old trafford is the LONGEST but Everton is the WIDEST.

Either way, Falmer will look MASSIVE compared to the tiny tiny withdean pitch

It's what you do with it that counts. Typical men.

Remember when Alan Pardew tried (after his Reading team had lost to us again) that our pitch was illegal because it was too small?

Like the FA would have allowed us to use Withdean if the pitch didn't meet the required dimensions

Just far enough away from LDC

Actually he had a point. To allow space for throw ins and corners the club when they got permission to use withdean offered two options to the league.

1) Temporary carpet style 2g astroturf on the track or
2) a pitch that was one metre narrower than the recommended.

The agreement was on the latter. BTW we were (and maybe still are) one of a number of clubs who had this agreement

England
Falmer: 110m long x 68m wide
Withdean: 110m long x 75m wide

Wrong. You've got your yards and meters in a muddle.

Here insider says the Withdean is 110 yards x 70 yards (100M x 64M) which is the smallest in the football league.
Falmer will be 115 yards x 75 yards (105M x 68M) Webley is 1m wider but the same length.
New Pitch Size?

Falmer is much bigger

Withdean was given special dispensation.
