Please do spare a few moments if you get a chance walking by the bandstand tonight to check out WHITECLIFF, who are coming down from Liverpool to play at The Amex tonight. The guys have had a pretty big 2015 and this year is set to be even better, info and links below... Ta!

2015 saw WHITECLIFF become the first signing to The Libertines’ Gary Powell’s label 25 Hour Convenience Store, and also supported them at their sold out Ally Pally show. Their debut single ‘Everybody Knows’ was released to critical acclaim and followed up in October with the ‘Young Lovers’ EP, which received astonishing radio support from the likes of 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins, Radio 2’s Janice Long, Radio X’s John Kennedy and Jo Good (Shock of the New) and Amazing Radio’s Paul Lester (also Guardian).

Hotly-tipped newcomers WHITECLIFF will release the single ‘Five Minutes’ on 8th April 2016, followed by a 13-date headline UK tour for April & May.

A bit indie-schmindie for me, but will check them out if they are still on when I arrive. Nice to see this sort of act get booked for the bandstand.

Sometimes people ask me what I mean by "landfill indie". From now on, I'll point them to this video.

(BTW I support anyone's right to enjoy landfill indie)

I don't want to dishearten the lads, but I am unable to give them the much coveted 'Wellesley Seal Of Approval." This of course doesn't mean they shouldn't carry on, but maybe just for fun.
