From his Biog

Bloom, 44, studied maths at Manchester University, then became a professional gambler, a trader in the City and eventually made a fortune setting up online betting firm Premierbet in 2002

That's not his biog. That's from an article in the Daily Mail.

Try again.

Ok, how's this:

'Premier Bet has a great brand and offers customers a specialist betting
experience which we intend to cross sell to customers of Heathorns and our other
e-gaming portals. We also intend to leverage the Premier Bet brand name to
expand into other sports and segments of the market. This, combined with the
adoption of a more risk averse trading strategy, should enable both betting
revenues and the gross win rate to be increased.'

Commenting on the acquisition, Tony Bloom, owner and CEO of Premier Bet, said:

'This is a very exciting development for Premier Bet and we are delighted to be
part of the new enlarged IGH group. As well as continuing to offer customers a
first rate soccer betting experience, we will now be able to provide an even
wider range of sports betting events as well as poker and casino games.'

As an aside - how "ethical" are credit card companies?

A company he set up 14 years ago, and sold 11 years ago for £1.2m accounts for the wealth which can afford to stump up over £200m on the club?

Not waving, but drowning.

Jeez, did you read that article!!!!

Bloom, a veteran gambler who owns Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, made millions setting up an online bookmaker and poker websites in the 2000s, and his net worth — which is a mystery — is estimated by some to run into the billions.

Talk about shoot your own argument in the foot - even your BHA mates are agreeing with me!

So because it's a mystery, it's unethical? Outstanding thinking.

Can you provide first-hand, peer-tested empirical evidence that Bloom's behaviour has been unethical - beyond your own prejudices?

Careful, I have not been prejudicial in any way.

I don't know your owner, but I can read. The last article I posted was taken from the company's press release.

I don't want to argue with you (I'll probably get banned), I am merely pointing out that the OP makes a statement without realising that TB has/was/is involved in on-line betting firms.

Then you lumped them and Bloom in as one - as if they all operate in the same unethical manner.

Can you back this up?

I tell you what, you find an article that proves that TB has had nothing to do with online betting companies and I'll come back and discuss.

I was working in Zargreb last week and after getting on tithe subject of football, I show someone there highlights of one of our games at the Amex. He was not only impressed with our stadium, but that we are sponsored by American Express, said we must be a big club, to which I just grinned.

You really can't prove a negative so that's not possible is it. Just tell us how he is involved in online betting companies which should be easy for you. As for 'lowlife', on what grounds ? I'd contend that his operation, that accounts for some % of his wealth but we have no idea how much, is anything but 'lowlife'. You do realise there are entry criteria, right ?
