Ambulance Chaser Texting

I'm sure most people get these texts - The usual spiel: "We have been trying to contact you regarding your accident" etc etc.....

For the record, I've had no accident.

So the obvious question: Is there anyway of stopping these leaches from bombarding me with texts? Okay, when I say bombarding, usually two to three a week which isn't horrendous, but still a pain in the arse.

I signed up to the 'preference service' years ago which in theory stops cold calling, but obviously doesn't stop spam texts. Its pointless replying & giving them abuse as they come from an automated system.

Any suggestions how to stop this crap?

Whatever you do, do not reply to this (or any other similar) text.

It is probably a spam message, sent out to thousands of numbers and if you were to reply, then it shows that it is a real number and you will end up being spammed by other providers as they will sell on your number to other interested parties (spammers)

I get these so many times. End of the day these companies are scum and costing us all higher insurance premiums/taxes etc. I just put them on speaker phone till their taped message runs it's course and let them pay more for their call. I tried getting through to someone and they are always so rude. As I said Scum people.

I mean via phone calls not texts....

What I would like to do is find the scum that gives away our personal information in the first place.
Must get one phone call a week from call centres abroad, surveys, windows virus, ppi. I never gave my personal information away to any of these companies if the first place, so where and who is giving them the information.

A law needs to be passed asap, that if a call centre telephones you and cannot provide proof of where our names and addresses came from they should be fined, and fined heavily. It's an invasion of privacy.

Things is, no matter how clever they try and get on the phone, we have heard it all before.

Guy Fawkes is right - never reply, just delete. Replying will mean they will sell your number on meaning lots more texts. Crafty little fcukers

I get these to, but just delete them...... However calls from 0800 numbers are more annoying and I also ignore them as well as withheld numbers... Does anyone answer these?
