This is one hell of a deal.
Hopefully Prime will have access to MGM's vast film library.
Will give Netflix etc..a bit of competition.

Watched Stephen Colbert this morning and he made the link between MGM owning the rights to the US version of The Apprentice and an outtakes video where a certain Ex President may have made multiple racist/derogatory comments. We all know Bezos and Bozos aren't the best of friends.

Chump change for Bezos. Only way he can compete with the likes of Disney. Probably good news for Amazon Prime customers. Amazon's own foray into producing their own movies has met with mixed success so far.

It's so much easier to buy stuff when you don't have taxes to pay.

C'mon no one would need to spend $8 billion for a clip of Trump dropping racist or derogatory comments, there are already so many already out there.

They will eventually, but may need to wait for existing deals to expire. Disney had / have a similar issue with some of the IPs they acquired when they bought Marvel - pre-existing deals that Marvel had done have placed constraints on what Disney can do until those deals either run out or can be re-negotiated.

"Amazon confirms plans to 'reimagine and develop' James Bond, Robocop and more".

Hold tight!

Good luck with that. The Brocolli's won't allow any sort of shenanigans with Bond. I've read they'll be retaining creative control and would banjax anything they don't feel is suitable.
