Despatched: 24th Jan,
money taken,
Est. Delivery Date: 29th Jan

Still nothing. Amazon's "help" section is dreadful, just points you to the "how to track an order" page.

Go to the contact us area - there is a phone number and they are quite helpful. They will note you haven't received your goods and ask you to wait until a certain date. If you still haven't received them you ring back and get a refund. Well that's how it worked for me anyway a couple of Christmas's a go, Down side is that the call centre is based in India :rant::rant:

I've always found Amazon pretty good when things haven't turned up, I just email them through their contact page and they give me a full refund no questions asked.

Help > scroll down to the 'Most customers...' bit and click on the 'How to contact customer service' link > sign in > email (either the tab - copy the order number to paste in the message - or the 'email' box to the right of the order) and tell them you haven't revieved it. I think they ask you to wait a week or ten days from the expected delivery date then contact again.

I find it quite funny that people are saying that the high street shops like HMV and Waterstones have an outmoded business plan and that on-line shopping is the way to go, when you're still reliant on Royal Mail who manage to lose 1,000's of items a day. OK Amazon make it easier to order stuff with on-line retailing, and downloading zeros and ones isn't exactly going to result in large overheads and stock inventories but you can't beat complaining to someone face-to-face when something goes wrong ( especially likely with the high value items Amazon are branching into ) and you want to tell them how shoddy you think their service is - doing it over the phone just doesn't really cut the mustard. Plus if Royal Mail do get privatised there's no way that delivery will stay 'free' to the customer.

If it's something you've bought through Amazon but it has come from a different company then use the 'File a Claim' option that will show under the order. That requires you to contact the seller to chase and then if you get no reply you can claim for reimbursement through Amazon. If it's something you've got direct from Amazon then phone them. From my experience a replacement is sent no questions asked.

Never had a problem with Amazon customer service. Had several items not show up in the past. Just reported the fact and they sent out replacements within minutes every time, no questions asked.

Where is it? I just keep going round in circles, always ending up at the page listing all my recent orders!

Edit: Ignore me, I've found it.

I've had two orders in the past couple of years that have been 'lost in the post'. Both times when I emailed them they sent a replacement order the same day. They're also very helpful if you need to return anything. I always just deal with them by email though, they always reply within a few hours in my experience.

The only time I didn't recieve an order from Amazon, I e-mailed them about it and got a reply the next day saying they'd sent out a replacement.

They both arrived in the post a couple of days later!

They aren't saying it - they are doing it.
