Am I the only one that would rather give the Spurs friendly a miss and save my first experience of going to the AMEX til the first league match at home to Donnie ?

Just feel like I want my first exciting experience to be a proper, meaningful matchday and I know the memory of this first experience will live with me forever. I'm sure many will disagree with me though !!!

I was firmly in the 'save it for August 6th' camp but after the flurry of photos of the nearly finished article over the last week or so I'm now feeling that I want to be there for Spurs. Not bothered about the Senior Cup Final, but the Spurs game is just starting to whet my appetite.

Don't get me wrong - I'm champing at the bit to get in there but reckon I will hold out for that proper matchday atmosphere. Will be there waiting for the gates to open on the 6th !!!!!

Not bothered with any friendly matches at all, even internationals, total meaningless. Looking forward to August 6th when the real football starts.

I think i will sit and wait for the real opening day. The day to arrive at about 10am with a small bottle of cognac and coke and just sit outside waiting for things to open, just like the day i was the 79th one into a newly-opened 99p Store and got a free litre of Head and Shoulders.

I sort of agree but on the other hand i feel the more match experience we get at the stadium before the playing the league matches the better. I know its only one game but i think the sooner we get the players feeling at home at the new stadium the better.

The players will be there before August 6th fella, this conversation is about whether YOU will be too.

I'm away for the Spurs friendly and to be honest a reduced capacity local match will be like watching Lewes play. So I think I'll wait till the 6th.

I plan to make it to every game I can including the Spurs friendly. Knowing my luck I'll wait for the BIG day on the 6th then go down with some life threatening illness that keeps me away. Nah I cannot risk missing the Spurs game in case I jinx the 6th.

Did a tour the other day. It was AMAZING. The ground is brilliant, I can't wait.

However, it didn't feel like home. For that reason, the Spurs game is a must see so as to enhance the experience of August 6th, the first proper game at The Amex. Can't wait.
