You put out some different views and that is what a forum is for, surely ? Did not like the way you were rounded on and made to look a paedo sympathiser.

A diffferent view? The Girl was 15. A pupil at his school. Really? Truthfully?

He didn't just put different views on the forum though did he, he was provocative during a discussion about child sex abuse, there's a time and a place don't you think?

I agree but you need to be very sure of yourself before you label someone with a tag.

Quite.

Anyone who can condone this person's actions in such a disgusting manner as the opening poster is surely more deserving of a ban than a person dishing out football related banter on a football related forum.

However the op may come across is actually non plus to me (atm) because he's actually started a stimulated DEBATE, which I personally think NSC has been lacking recently.

I was seeing it from the guys side and I still think his sentance in relation to others was harsh. I have looked at the thread and think I got it wrong on some points and have taken onboard people's comments. He for me is a troubled individual, not quite the full ticket as you wouldn't be if you did what he did would you ? Stands to reason. doug seemed to put out a few questions but come on, trying to make him out as a paedo supporter is just wrong and legally very dangerous.

I feel a bit sorry for dougdeep. Maybe he did not express his views well but he has been royally BATTERED on here. hybrid maybe on a wind up.

It's not ok though is it? Hybrid thinks it is ok for a 29/30 year old teacher to start a relationship with vulnerable 14 year old girl, have sex with her aged 15 and do everything he can to cover it up.

As if condoning such abuse is not enough he also goes out of his was to spread misogynistic views about young girls. That is not what a forum supports is it?

He said his opinion was that a girl becomes a woman as soon as she becomes sexually active and should no longer be treated as a child, no matter what age she was! He then denied saying it totally? You still think he is credible, you think he has added to the forum this afternoon?

I wonder what would have happened if this had been in France. I have no idea what their laws are regarding teachers but their age of consent is 15 so I guess a French teacher would have got a lighter sentence.

Maybe just tried to get a reaction. Something that pretty much happens on every thread on NSC.

I said no such thing.

Really? Uncle, you need to listen to the news. Read the posts. He was in a position of authority. An adult. A fully grown man who KNOWS the law. Has it drummed into him at Teacher Training College. Yet he STILL went and done what he done.

I have a FOURTEEN year old daughter. So, maybe, I am being a little over protective here, but I am seriously having second thoughts about her wandering around the Amex with minimal supervision on a match day......some people here seem to think she is fair game! I normally believe that people are entitled to their own viewpoint, but this? I can't condone. Sorry.

A quick search reveals that it is still illegal, even if the pupil is above the age of consent

So, this geezer gets five months for carrying on with a 15-year old, even with her consent. The article does say that he was lucky that in France she had reached the age of consent, otherwise he'd be looking at five years in le jug

Thanks Gwylan. It's always good to look at these things from a broader perspective.

Yeah I have reflected on my comments and think I got it wrong. As you say he abused his position regardless of declarations of " love ".
