He’s awful when he does Scottish football as he just talks about Rangers all the time but on English football he’s pretty decent. I find he gives you a bit more insight, like when he was talking a bit about Hojlunds decision making, it’s good to understand a players perspective.

Love him. Unlike many co-commentators, he comes across as someone who genuinely loves football and is happy to be a part of it. It's really nice to listen to when you're a neutral and watching because, like Ally, you too are watching because you love football.

Similar with Joe Cole as well. West Ham's coverage in their run to the Conference League was superb because of it last season.

This. Genuinely really likeable and fun. Football is meant to be fun.

Plus, there is something about the Scottish accent which just works with commentary. Andy Gray is a massive **** but I do miss his co-comms, he was the master as far as I’m concerned.
