Not a very balanced side but they would put the fear of god into the opposition. Any I've missed ?

Ian Baird was absolute nails up front. Armstrong had a rep, but not 'hard' b comparison.

Who was that player who tackled a player on the ground with his head at Withdean? I think he was on loan from Leyton Orient. He'd have automatic selection to this team for that alone. I remember meeting Ray Wilkins once and him saying that Jimmy Case was the hardest man he'd ever played against. That's good enough for me!

No all time Albion XI can be taken seriously without Jimmy Case in it. I can't have Bridge as he is a loan and not really ours and going against popular opinion I can't have Ward either as he never really cut the mustard at the top level, where as Zamora, Robinson and Saunders all proved themselves against the best.

1. Corrigan - Close call with TK but big Joe just edges it for me.
2. Stevens - England class
3. Chapman - Not a lot of competition for LB (Bridge excluded), Chappers never let us down and think he would have been solid enough in the top flight.
4. Horton (Capt) - Born leader.
5. Foster - Can't recall any other centre backs getting a England call up while playing in the stripes.
6. Lawrenson- World class player, the flair alongside Foster's steel.
7. Case - One of the hardest players of his generation, alongside Horton would be a midfield duo to scare the shit out of anyone and they can both play as well.
8. John Robinson- Very much forgotten player, one side of a 4 man midfield.
9. Michael Robinson - Top class centre forward.
10. Bobby Zamora - Zamora and Robinson would have been frightening.
11. Steve Penney - But for injury would have surely gone on to play for a top club. Was unplayable on his day and a delight to watch.
