Lord Bracknell has been in touch with the club and a singing block doesn't look feesable although hasn't been 100% wiped out (well thats the impression I got, Ed may wish to correct me).

So the best way to do this would be to all put our tickets in together.

Rather than mess up this thread with loads of tittle tattle please just post whether you would like to do this.

Yeah the point is to get a list of people to contact.

That way I can say right. Meet at this time or give your application to this person etc.

I can see why you have that impression, Turkey. I suggested that the Club might wish to allocated a specific block of tickets to people who wanted to label themselves "Singers" and make these tickets available at Withdean (for people who pay by cash or cheque) and at the Club Shop (for people who qualify to order by post or people who pay by credit card).

The exact reply I've received is:-

"Point well made, but not easy to organise - we are intending to open ten turnstiles at Withdean - selling 25,000 tickets in a few days is not an easy exercise. We will do our best."

We don't know which end of the Millennium Stadium we will be given (IF we qualify at all, that is!). I would guess that the Singers would want to congregate behind the goal - maybe Blocks UN3/N3 if we have the North End, or Blocks U19/U20 or M19/M20 if we have the South End, overspilling sideways if demand is big enough.

There is also the question of price. I'm not sure if the arrangement suggested would give Singers a choice of prices - Millwall's tickets for the FA Cup Final are cheaper in the back of the North End Upper Tier, but this might not include Block UN3.

I take the "We will do our best" bit of the Club's message at face value. Maybe the best thing would be to make another approach immediately after the Second Leg of the semi-final.

I'm pretty certain that it won't be easy to get 1,000 people congregated together at Withdean, all ready to join the same queue at the same time - which would be what would be needed if we wanted to "buy seats together". And how would that allow credit card and postal applicants to join us?

As the Club says ... "not easy to organise".

Personally I can't see why it would be such a big problem for the club to organise a singing section. All they have to do is put say a 5000 section of seats to one side and call it the singing section and make it known that you will only be put here if you ask to be. After a certain amount of time the club can then sell any remaining tickets to whoever needs a ticket.
Having all the loud part of the crowd together must surely be a big benefit to the club, and would sound so much better that having everyone jotted around here there and everywhere.

I think you've just answered my point. Was writing mine as you wrote yours.

5,000? I reckon the hardcore singers amount to about 1,000.

Gullet may be right. I may be wrong. We probably both agree that what we DON'T want is what we had at the Notts County game at Wembley - a lot of singers isolated from each other.

It's probably important that we get this "magic number" right.

I personally don't/didn't think we'd be looking at 1000. I imagined about 100 posters on here. All of whom can get their money and that of their friends together and get tickets together.

If the club could sort something obviously that would be better because we could get more singers although I was very much thinking along the lines of singers on NSC.

I just hope something can be sorted.

You're probably closer to a true figure LB but at least if 5000 were put to one side then that would at least GUARANTEE that everyone who wanted a ticket in that section would get one. And lets not forget that quite a few will be wanting to take along and sit with friends etc who dont normally go to a game. This alone will bolster the numbers, and they will get caught up in the singing and the occasion even if they've never sang before.

In a crowd of 25,000 Albion supporters, 100 singers sitting together will have about as much impact as Block K has at Withdean.

Since the idea for a Cardiff singing section came to me originally from Krispies, I think I owe it to him to whip up a bigger choir than that.

If this game happens, it'll be the biggest gathering of Albion supporters at a game since 1991. Let's make it special.

Fully agree. I just didn't have such high expectations and feel the group from here would at least be a start to getting people together.
