I only watched the first 10 minutes, but what a lot of nonsense, Jack Tinker was enthusing at ridiculous lengths about the Brighton Belle, an anachronism long before it was eventually axed in 1972. Comparing it with the Orient Express is absurd too, quality wise they were a million miles apart.
Annie Nightingale made the comment that Brightn had become difficult to reach from London, whereas to my knowledge there have always been several trains an hour between the two cities, fast trains making the journey in fifty odd minutes!
chuckling at the opening complaint of late trains, plus ca change. and the trains are still 55 minutes
its quite a pretentious presentation, everything that was done was great, everything we do now is vulgar. im sure the fisherman said the same when the regency townhouses sprung up.
