I have to say, with so many behavioral issues and points dropped from red cards..
Jahanbakhsh had 2 yellows in 19 matches, one of them arguably nonsense.
I do hope Potter will try him in one of his attacking formations against one of the bottom half teams. I think even a subpar Alireza would be better than playing with 10 men and another 2-3 points dropped.

I don’t know from what I have seen when he has started we look like we are playing with 10 men

You do realise he can pick another 11 players again next week, we’re not forced to play just 10 and a below par Ali J??

This is not how anything at all works.

Good God, you're really clutching at straws. Can you inform us how many red cards Mooy has in his career? I'd imagine AJ hasn't got any, because he's not exactly known for tackling.

AJ is not the answer to anything on a PL football field. Surely people must know that by now.

a galaxy far far away
The fact that he didn't make the squad now means it's all over for him. He had a window of opportunity a few weeks ago, but it slammed shut with the performance of the young players against Spurs. He'll never wear the stripes again and we'll surely look to loan him him out in Jan.

As has been said, some work out and some don't

The Prince of Persia needs to find another club. Fast. He’ll be fine in some of Europe’s other top leagues I’m sure. Good luck I say but also time to move on.

Get back to talking sense about gardening.

Jahanbakhsh deserves his chance in the side at some point, if he's as good in training as people have said, I can't see why he doesn't warrant getting a run. I don't have a shred of doubt that he's a quality player who would be very good for us. When he played last season, we rarely lost and that wasn't a coincidance in my opinion. He didn't directly contribute to goals or assists, but the team (which functioned badly in general), was better with him in it.

He is being retrained. Reformatted. He will emerge. Possibly.

So who would he replace? Maupay? Trossard? Connolly? Alzate? Gross? March? Murray on the bench? Serious question.

He played quite a few games last season - and didn't directly contribute to goals or assists; so - he didn't contribute then. Now Potter seems to have him somewhere around 19 in the pecking order. He may be a wonderful human being, and possibly a decent footballer in Holland or elsewhere on the continent; in which case that's probably where he should be - better for him and for us. One way or another, PL stardom isn't for him, it seems.

This is getting boring now. . . . . We don't know. We collectively know more about Brexit than we do about AJ

Given fragility and discipline, we need all the players we can get.

If he gets a good chance and is shit, so be it.

Until that point, I hope, and still believe, he could be the new messiah. Or Steve Penney maybe.

Have we ever had A Brian?

I’ve got a feeling re Ali... he’s not been properly fit since he joined and has certainly struggled to adapt... BUT...

I think GP is aware he’s got potential and we might yet see him make a late (okay, very late) impact when GP thinks he’s ready.

I’d like to think we’d all be willing to give him a few more chances before cutting him adrift a proclaiming him to be little more than dross.

Cut him some slack, as it’s difficult to prove much whilst gathering splinters in your ass on the bench.

I still hold out hope he’ll be our Luis Figo.

Sorry, but I can see only 'straws; at; clutching' in that response.
