I know it's been said before but the club really must sort out keeping him at least on a season loan if not permanent.

He really is our most consistant midfielder this season by a country mile.

Another very solid performance today.

yep, but why was he taken off? he didnt seem tired or injured, i just hope mcghee aint going to ease oatway into the starting eleven, as that would definitely make the starting eleven a lot weaker. after a few games together nicholas and carpenter should be superb.

perhaps we could try:

------oatway------
nicholas carpenter
------ currie -------

with oatway sitting back infront of the defence and a free role for currie.

The first time I saw Albion this season was against Watford and I have to admit, I was HUGELY impressed by this little midfielder.

If you do watch him, he never plays complicated balls and tries to be flash. He tends to play short passes and it his simple and effective ideas that lose the opposition.

I really do hope we can keep him. He is an excellent player (understatement).

How long have we got him for by the way? Is it 3 months or the whole season?

The only reason i can think of why he was taken off was he was starting to look a little tired. He'd run his socks off all match and Gillingham were starting to drag him out of position when they attacked down our right hand side leaving acres of space in the centre.

I must admit Charlie gave it his all when he came on and looked very fresh and up for a central midfield tussle. He tackled well and wasn't sloppy in his passing.

Agreed something must be done to get this lad Nicolas on the books permanently. His control and passing is of a high standard and when he makes a tackle he always tries to keep the ball and retain possession. Lovely to watch such hard working players.

Meopham, Kent.
I think he looks a class player.
If we can afford it let's sign him up before Reading come sniffing.

Dare I say with Carpenter back as well we have a midfield that is starting to look quite useful? I thought Oatway did a good job when he came on but I don't see him being preferred to Nicholas who had an excellent, if unspectacular game. We should take the Sidwell money (we apparently had) out from under the mattress and sign him up. His performances will not be going unnoticed.

Have we tried to sort something out, but it's on hold while a 'few things' get sorted out.

Can't remember the details, but I think it's down to .... F. Nudge, nudge.

Players budget for this season unaffected by anything else.

no he had to sacrifice someone because virgs went centre back when el.abd came off, so he wanted to tighten up the midfield with oatway and mcphee coming on. he had to do it.

Not impressed. Very ordinary, Nicholas is. Little stamina. Not in in the same class a Sidwell. Not sure he is any better than Charlie Oatway?

I think we see an improvement in Charlie's play now we have a better Manager.

Now that Chippy is back, any midfielder in his company will show better. Could do with another midfilder though.

Tempted myself to buy, beg or borrow a striker and use Hinshelwood or Virgo in midfield or even Danny Cullip.

I take it you have lost leave of your senses or drunk too much.

Nicolas has been superb for us, end off

I know that everyone is entitled to their opinion but to suggest that Nicholas is no better than Charlie is just ridiculous. Must be the drink.....

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It just so happens that everybody else disagrees with his.

I love Charlie Oatway but even I can see that Nicholas is in a different class.

Oatway for Nicolas. I hope that is not a sign of things to come.

I think Nicolas may have been carrying an injury. He seemed to be limping a bit at the end of the match.
