MOTD giving him the thumbs up: "Players like him are not easy to get hold of" - Alan Shearer.

Don't mind it. Was assuming he'd stay another year with Benfica, given that he's on the brink of a breakthrough and could be looking for bigger clubs soon, but if he wants the move now... we'd probably be happy to pick him up. Wonder what he'd cost though?

Bah -ram-ewe! Bah-ram-ewe! To your breed, your fleece, your clan be true! Sheep be true! This bloke could be A Brighton BABE magnet if he wore the seagull stripes! Couldn't tell you if he's any good mind but just wanted to get involved in thread!!!

I just had a little look on the Benfica fans forum. Looked like their main one, it was very busy. Couple of things.

1. Lots of mention of their financial problems. Always good to know. Apparently he agreed terms with galatasaray but they didn't want to pay the transfer fee, so seems they would let him go for the right price.

2. Lots of posters there saying he WOULD be good if it wasn't for his injury record.

Seems to have played 45, and 32 in all comps for the last two seasons. Which didn't seem too bad but has been out for relatively long stretches during the winter months of the last two seasons.

I must say I'm surprised that they might be having financial troubles given their sales of Goncalo Ramos, Enzo Fernandez and Darwin Nunez in the last 3 years for a combined £224M

Serious financial mismanagement according to their fans. 200m + in the hole and they seem to want to lynch all of their board of directors.
