In 1985, the consumption of alcohol in the stands of English football grounds and stadium areas with views of the pitch was banned in order to curb hooliganism. This applies in the highest five tiers (Premier League to National League).

I am concerned that this is being allowed in the heated Tunnel Club seats in full view of the pitch and it would appear that the club is in fact breaking the law unless someone knows different

Can you see the pitch or the tunnel? You have to leave the Tunnel lounge to watch the match from heated seats.

Good Evening Officer.

You can only get soft drinks in those seats.

Knowing Sir Barbs OBE PMJ I think it'll be soft ones only, he'll not miss a trick like that.

Thanks for clarification that it’s soft drinks
Is there an app you order them on or do you click your fingers and a minion appears?

Is there any other club that serves drinks in seats during the game? f***ing stupid idea and very very annoying for those in the seats behind.

Genuine question - why would you be concerned? I’m pretty sure the club know the laws around drinking

And why would it be such a big issue to you if it was booze 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bizarre post.

On a side note, you can take a pint into the north seats after can’t you? I def have before. So is the rule only when there is the game on as such or after it’s finished it’s ok?

Want to know if I needed to hide mine under my hoodie for the lap of honour last season or not 🤣

And before 1985 I think I can only recall a couple of grounds you could get a beer in the away end. Highbury did 2 pint pots and at the other end of the scale if you wanted a pint at West Ham it consisted of the staff pouring two of those little cans that Terry from Minder used to drink in front of the telly.
