Not sure if these are mentioned earlier but I have recently been playing the modern day Daisy Age of Golden Rules album Golden Ticket. it is absolutely aceballs.

Meanwhile an album that came out in the summer but that only sounds right to be playing in the festive now is Architect by C Duncan, a mixture of classical choral, indie dream-pop and folk, like Fleet Foxes on a really good day.

Both brought to my attention via the Mbongwana Start Spotify Radio stream.

If you happen to be a fan of a Springsteen-infused country rock kind of sound, then Eric Church's "Mr Misunderstood" is the album for you.

He released it with no fanfare whatsoever, with the first anyone knew of it being when members of his fan club received CD and vinyl copies of it through the post, and it's bloody superb.

Just had a listen to this, thanks for the heads up. Cracking album

Listening to Floating Points and Grimes. The latter is an interesting DIY take on a pop album.

Got a couple of albums with some Christmas money: Eska's eponymous album and Kamasi Washington's The Epic - both excellent. Been playing Eska's a lot this week. There's really been some excellent music this year
