It's that time of the year where we say: it's not even the end of the year yet, this is just a marketing tool, cant believe blah blah isnt included etc etc. Me, i just like lists.

First up, as usual, is Rough Trade:

I have chosed this link as I think it is easier on the eye than the Rough Trade site.

Rough Trade 10 is here

Nation of Language – ‘Strange Disciple’
Sufjan Stevens – ‘Javelin’
Caroline Polachek – ‘Desire, I Want To Turn Into You’
Lankum – False Lankum
Young Fathers – Heavy Heavy
Yussef Dayes – Black Classical Music
Baxter Dury – I Thought I Was Better Than You
Armand Hammer – We Buy Diabetic Test Strips
Overmono – Good Lies
Grian Chatten – Chaos For The Fly

I personally think Young Fathers will be my number 1. I listened to it again last week and it is still as fresh and exciting as when I first heard it early in the year.

Album of the year (probably)

Robert Forster, 'The Candle and the Flame'

Off the top of my head these would be in my top 10

Pick of this year's 3 Guided By Voices albums is 'La La Land'
Kristin Hersh's 'Clear Pond Road'
Protomartyr 'Formal Growth In The Desert'
John Cale, 'Mercy'
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, 'Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You'
Lankum 'False Lankum'

Looking forwards to Lankum at Chalk next month as my last scheduled gig of the year,

Didn't know there was a Sigur Ros album out but that will probably be in there because it's a Sigur Ros album.

Young Fathers a winner for me, Shame and Murder Capital Albums also very good. Really enjoyed the new Olivia Rodrigo and Paramore albums as well.

The Sextile album, Push, will be up there somewhere in my top 10.

Yo La Tengo released This Stupid World early on in the year. Surprised it didn’t make that top 100- worthy of at least a mention.
