sorry but DM are too big to count for this thread. I do share your concern though. I've always liked DM and can't understand why they come in for so much stick.

I'm not having that.

The spin doctor's fella looks like a big GAYER.

Lalas, on the other hand is a big hairy GOD - an inspiration to gingers everywhere!

Apologies HKFC - on reflection you are quite right.

That album a pocketful of kryptonite was crap too. How many people bought it on the strength of the 2 princes and regretted it afterwards? I certainly did.

No mention of Echo and the Bunnymen's Ocean rain.

"The greatest album ever made " to quote Ian Mac on the promo literature

My fav band..plenty of good old stuff on youtube..In my opinion "Heaven up here" is a better album

Third greatest album of all time in the Trufflehound household.

What are the top two (does RR&P make it in the top 10?, he asks hopefully)

Pigeonhole good call, saw the New FADS at the Zap, supported by The Kitchens of Distinction.

Excursion on the Version by Beats International, far superior offering than Let Them Eat Bingo- and very much forgotten.

Go on, give it a listen.

Gang of Four's Entertainment and The Only Ones' Even Serpents Shine (which I believe is far better than their debut album, despite popular opinion to the contrary).

The only trouble with RR&P in my mind is they spread themselves too thinly on record. If they'd taken the chaff out of both God and I Am Cold and combined the remainder into one album, it would have been up there with a chance.

Incidentally, back on the original topic, what about "Author! Author!" by Scars?

A few years ago, I lived next door to the bassist for the Scars. He would have been embarrassed to hear you say that as he lived on his Scars' past. He was more into Scottish folk music and spent his evenings singing things like "A fleet of herring".

BTW, Entertainment is a good call; one of the best British albums of all time.
