Vankleek Hill, actually....
Currently have iTunes on shuffle and up pops "Love Secrets" from the Passion & Warfare album by Steve Vai which immediately gets fast-forwarded to the next random song.

The album was purchased on a whim due to his contribution to Whitesnake's album, Slip Of The Tongue where he recorded all of the guitar parts due to Adrian Vandenburg injuring his wrist.

Personally I think he did a cracking job on this album, so my hopes were very high when buying his Passion & Warfare album, only to discover what a complete load of tosh it is.

So, fellow NSCers, are there albums you've bought that you thought "should be cracking" whereas in reality, they suck big time?

I liked Passion & Warfare !!

For the love of god is awsome

Passion and warfare is a very good album by a guitarist. It contains guitar instrumentals and therefore shouldn't be judged against the pop songs of Whitesnake.

Totally agree with you, For the love of God is an amazing track.

The studio album after 'Powerslave' by Iron Maiden ('Seventh Son of a Seventh Son'?)....was really looking forward to it after 'Powerslave' and 'Live After Death' but it was utterly pedestrian.

Moloko - Things to make and do.

I remember buying it after reading quite a few good reports, and promptly wondered what all the fuss was about.
