He made one sub appearance and we lost 2-0.
The first ever actual Golden Goal was scored by Huddersfield I think.
Are you thinking Adam Virgo v Swindon? Wasn't a golden goal, just an equaliser that took us to Pens.

Nope - definitely thinking of the first ever golden goal scored by James Virgo for BHAFC, not Huddersfield...

Yes, I owe an apology, at least in a major part, James Virgo did score a Golden Goal for Brighton in 1996. But Huddersfields Iain Dunn scored the first ever Golden Goal in British Football in 1994, Kalimantan Gull has already pulled me up on this.

Clearly not even a contest this one but for sheer enjoyment I would add Dunk @ Fulham to put us in the lead when we'd been completely outplayed all game.

Leon Knight's pen in the playoff final 2004
Gross goal vs West Brom as first in the prem
Dean Wilkins free-kick Vs Ipswich in 2001 to get us in the playoffs
Jacob Butterfield's goal for Derby that effectively got us promoted

2001

Reinelt shmeinelt.

For importance I was going to say Reinelt's goal against Hereford that ensured Brighton's survival as a football club.

For sheer spectacle and explosion of joy I was going to say Wilkins's last minute free kick winner against Ipswich to send us into the play offs.

For sentimentall impact I was going to say Buckley's late winner against Doncaster in our first ever proper home game in 14 years.

For emotional impact I was going to say Storer's winner against Doncaster, the last ever goal at the Goldstone.

But that video has shown me the folly of my thinking.

It's clearly Ryan Harley's free kick. On his debut. His debut!

Thank you.

Wonder how many other clubs could answer this question with such ease.

I mean, just look at Harley's free kick!
