That's SUCH an important win.

All about the team, the backroom staff, the spirit in the club.

We don't need a manager with new ideas. We just need one who won't f*ck things up.

The first half was very poor, all the play was hurried with few passes strung together. Grimsby had little change out of Cullip and Butters.
Second half was much better and once we had scored there was only going to be one winner
I hope we can get Rehman for rest of the season as he will put his foot on the ball and use it positively.
Leon certainly enjoys scoring judged by his celebrations, and he worked really hard along with McPhee.
Alround a good second half performance with all the players giving it everything, especially given this week's Coppell saga.
Keep this up and we will be at Reading next season.

The first half was dire but once we'd scored then we looked like a team again.

Good performance and we deserve to be top of the division.
other results went for us today

:)

In the first half we really looked like a team without a manager. The whole team apppeared to be complete strangers, passes going astray and Grimsby having a large proportion of the ball without doing anything particularly constructive. Second half: complete transformation. The whole Grimsby defence appeared to freeze for Rehmans opener. I missed the second goal as I was rolling a fag at the time! :shootself After the second goal it was all one way traffic. Too far away to judge the penalty, but I'm sure it was the correct decision...???

Despite not playing particularly well this season, we are four points clear at the top. Compared to two seasons ago, the standard of this division has really slumped. Nobody to compare to the likes of Wigan, Reading, Stoke, Cardiff etc. Sheffield Wednesday and Q.P.R.?? Just big names from the past, no better than us judging by what I've seen of them. Port Vale, Wrexham, Swindon?....Fast off the blocks, flash in the pans!...Won't last the pace...

Yep, roll on May. Book the open top bus now Dick!

Similar performance to so many this season - ie a bit indifferent, but I honestly don't care. If we keep winning I'll be happy.

I still want to see another striker in to support and provide cover for McPhee and Knight.

What with England getting the result tonight I'm happy and off for a few beers !

Think we can let ppl off this once since the England match was an important one, (especially Yorkie who i saw disappearing with about 10-15 mins to go!)

As others have said. Lacklustre first half, but Grimsby only had one real chance that Kuipers saved superbly. We got the goal from a quick short corner which somehow ended up at Rehman's feet who slotted it in.

2nd goal i can't remember too well..... cross from Hart? Leon had a good shot blocked by the goalie who ended up at the back of the onion bag and Leon calmly curled in the rebound.

3rd. Looked a penalty from J block.

Glad the lads got themselves in gear in the 2nd half and a fine result if a little flattering.

For the first goal, I nearly made the same mistake as the Grimsby defence - my eye was on the ball that had gone out of play. The Albion had the benefit of a quick thinking ball-boy who supplied a fresh one to enable the corner to be taken before Grimsby were expecting it.

One or two of their defenders were complaining to the ref - while our players were doing that ridiculous celebration they've picked up off the cardboard cut-outs at the west end of the ground.

As for the game as a whole, I think the difference between the two halves was the attitude of the midfield. First half, they seemed to think their job was just to stop Grimsby going forward. Second half, they realised that an effective midfield can actually start an attack itself. Their collective attitude was much more positive.

PS - does anyone know why those cut-outs are there?
