[Albion] Albion U16 Jacob Parsons called up to the England U16 squad

Congratulations to Albion U-16 Jacob Parsons who has been called up to the England U-16 squad for matches against Ukraine, Israel and France coming up over the next week or so.

Jacob is a forward who has been in the academy all the way from U-9 level. He was a member of the successful Albion U-16 squad who won the SuperCupNI in July, starting all five matches, scoring once and converting both penalties he took in penalty shoot-outs.

He happened to be pictured the other week playing for the U-17s against Luton Town (he is stood behind Tyler Silsby):-

The Secret Scout posted the full match on youtube and it turns out that Jacob Parsons came on as a 63rd-minute substitute yesterday.

Congratulations to the lad! Albion have another England (age group) international!

I just checked my records - since the beginning of the 2022-23 season (so just two seasons plus a little bit) Albion have had an astonishing 13 - THIRTEEN! - different players make an appearance for England at either full or age group level. THIRTEEN!! in just over two seasons.

Jacob started for the England U-16s on Saturday as they beat Israel 2-1. Not sure how long he played for - it seems to be a thing these days that there is a virtual news and social media blackout surrounding Israeli age group teams and matches (for security reasons, I am sure).

England's final fixture is on Tuesday against France (who beat Ukraine 8-0 on Saturday).
