When we were fighting for league survival in that game against Hereford did any fan ever imagine us paying one million pounds(£1000000) for a player!!!!!

or driving home from gillingham after a defeat in the middle of winter.............;.........

I remember those nights so well. I was the only driver at the time and but for the life of me all 4 of us had season tickets. Absolutely no need at all as a certain player would supply his tickets for the game and players lounge to me. The players lounge at the time before they re-built, was tiny (like one of those Japanese Hotel Pods) but as a wonderful gesture our finance also helped a Third World town build a new ground. Still the cricketers pub was quite welcoming. The owner even said that sometimes his turnover was higher when we had a "home" game.

My one lasting memory of those nights was speeding past the double decker buses, thinking to myself, you are proper hardcore Brighton, Our Day Will Come" and it has...

Or when Mark McGee had to turn to 142yr old Steve Claridge (he touched the ball 3 times & one of those was the kick off) in a drab 0-0 draw at Loftus road on New years day....

That seems quite a lot of money. I was expecting that kind of money to be used on a striker.

Unless there's lot's more money in the war chest...

I think Gus sees Buckley as a potential poor man's Messi, a winger who can come inside. Could be a bit of a gamble on our part and I hope the size of the fee doesn't get to the player. Granted the fact that we can splash a million on one player does make you feel good.
