One of those annoying brain quizzes that won't go away.

I've supported Albion for 47 years and can't remember a 5-2 league scoreline in our favour during that time.

Is that because their hasn't been one ?

EDIT- I've remembered one. An evening match I was at. Can you remember it ?

Sure we beat Shrewsbury 5-2 once.

Edit: Wrong. It was 5-3 in 1972.

The last time I saw us win 5-2 Kit Napier scored 2 on his debut v Peterborough.

We also beat Macclesfield 5-2 at Withdean and Bradford City at the Goldstone in the League Cup (1985)

and Hartlepool away in 1969. Alex Dawson got 4. Any others were before my time !

You want memory? I’ll give you memory! I was at the Goldstone (1966/67 season?) we played Peterborough and beat them 5-2. It was a warm, sunny day. Peterborough played in all red with two white hoops on their shirts. I can’t remember anymore than that!

Yeah. it was the Macclesfield Town match that I was at. I don't think we have any other 5-2 at home in the league since 1975. I would have been at the Bradford City match too, age 16.

I sometimes wonder what the lowest scoreline we've never won by is. So have we ever had a 6-2 for example?

Probably there should a a cricket style database with this sort of info, but not sure it exists for football.

I remember a 5-4 defeat at Sheffield United. 1989, I think.

We lost 6-2 at Blackpool in the old div 2 (72-73)

Pretty sure we lost 5-2 at Ashton Gate in recent memory

Great away day at Wolves, but I didn't feel it was unfortunate that Palace lost 9 nil, nor Pompey losing 3 nil at home. Marvelous evening. I thought it was the most perfect Albion performance ever, until eclipsed by Charlton and Peterborough aways under Gus, then almost every week since March. Also saw half hour high lights of the Wolves game last year and it was crap. (I think we went 2nd in the 2nd division that night).

If I recall correctly all 8 goals came in a 30 minute period. Unfortunately I wasn't there. We had a great away record that season.
