Albion have had 22 players (across all age groups) called up for international duty during this September international break, if my investigations are accurate. One of these, Imari Samuels, was a late addition to the England U-20 squad for a training camp that won't feature a match against any opposition; in all other cases there are fixtures scheduled.

The 22 names do not include Evan Ferguson, who has had to withdraw from the ROI squad due to injury. Julio Enciso and Jakub Moder are also not on the list, of course, through injury. James Furlong was originally on the list but has since made a permanent switch to Hull City.

We therefore have 21 players involved in fixtures throughout the next seven days (from Wednesday to Tuesday).

The action kicks off today (Wednesday) with the following Albion involvements:

Cam Peupion is in the Australian U-23 squad for their AFC 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Group I qualifier against Laos (to be staged in Tajikistan which is hosting the group). North Korea were drawn in this group but subsequently withdrew so the Aussies will play only one other fixture (against Tajikistan) next Tuesday.

Jack Hinshelwood is in the England U-19 squad for their friendly fixture against Germany. The match is being hosted at the Oliva Nova Football Centre in Valencia. England (coached by former Albion U-18s and U-21s/23s coach Simon Rusk) will also face Switzerland on Saturday.

Freddie Simmonds (who has only just captained the England U-16s in Italy) is in the England U-17 squad for a friendly against Portugal at the Pinatar Arena in Spain. England also face Morocco on Saturday and Spain next Tuesday.

**Note: Previous experience suggests that there is minimal interest in the international break on NSC (particularly as the break progresses). I don't mind writing up the forthcoming action like this on a daily basis but I'm not going to do it if nobody cares. So, if you find this post of interest and want this to continue, engage with this thread however you see fit.

Heard that 15 academy players from u15 to U21 groups have been called up for international duty in this break. Not sure if that included the now injured players like Ferguson.

Thanks @AZ Gull - your posts are very much appreciated. I’m usually far more interested in the youngsters info but with the fact that Dunky and Pascal in particular are involved I am following the internationals too this time. I’ve just read somewhere that Pascal may start on Saturday against Japan. I do hope so - he really deserves it. He’s a model professional - I’ve just seen a pic of him smiling too!

Thanks for the summary @AZ Gull - I think the full value of this thread is in years to come when the players in younger age groups make their breakthroughs and people search back for older references to them.
I think this is the key point. FWIW, I doubt I'll even see highlights if Dunk plays for England in these qualifiers -- because there's so much football out there, and I avoid these international qualifiers as a result. So, given that, it's unlikely that I'll watch or follow up on, for instance, Inari Samuels' outing for the u20s over the next week or two. I'm more likely to do so if/when Samuels makes it into a full match-day squad, however. AZ has compiled an amazing database (if that's the right word) over the years and shared it via NSC and Twitter/X, and it's such a wonderful resource to tap into -- but rarely immediately.

I always appreciate updates on the youth, internationals and all things Albion, but by christ the OP can come across as a bit needy.

I am one of those who previously has had zero interest in the international break. However, perhaps it’s the Albion’s sudden appearance in European football or it could be Dunk’s call up or the sheer number of our players that could be involved but I find my interest piqued. Whatever it is your threads are always appreciated and like this one contain information I would never be able to find out for myself.

Just for clarification - Furlong was selected and is with the Irish U-21s - never on the list for the full squad

Moran is also with the Irish U-21s but suggestions that he and Sinclair Armstrong may be drafted into the full squad after the U-21s game against Turkey on Friday.

Just for clarification - @AZ Gull never said he was on the list for the senior Ireland squad.

What he meant was that he was on the list of Brighton players on international duty this break but is no longer due to his permanent move to Hull.

I'm not sure there's minimal interest, although I think it's fair to say that my interest has increased over the last year or two as our involvement in international football has swelled so significantly.

Largely, I'm just in complete awe of your diligence, accuracy and attention to detail @AZ Gull - you're the absolute Daddy when it comes to this kind of thing!
