Apparently for failing to control our players, I guess following that diabolical decision to award that Pen at Southampton!

More details to follow and no doubt an appeal...

How about someone fines the F.A for not controlling the people who recruit the referees?

While there probably are problems with the manner in which referees are trained, I don't think that there's a problem with their appraisal system. I watch the odd Cambridge United game and the refs at that level (Blue Square Premier) are generally completely baffling. The refs in the Premier League really are the best in the country, and those in the Championship the second best etc., on average.

I think the 15k was following an appeal. The usual first fine is 10k but an extra 5 gets added for a frivolous appeal.

Ah, fair enough. Although I don't see why it is breaking news on Sky when it was published by the Argus on Friday.

This is the second time this season we have been fined by the FA. It probably goes up for a second, third, fourth offence and so on.....

Weneed to be seen to be cutting thsi out

It is worrying, carried on like this it wouldn't be a suprise if we get some kind of points deductions. It's a farce and the most mystifying thing is I can't see how we would be described as a dirty team. Obviously got a reputation in this league from day 1.

Has there ever been a points deduction for such?

Sorry, hyperbole got the better of me, it would be a suprise because it has probably never happened before (can't be arsed to research it) but it doesn't change the fact the our disciplinary record is by far the worst in the league, and that the FA might seek further sanctions (probably monetary) if it continues. And it will cost us points due to not having a settled team.

The ref should get fined for that ridiculous decision.

Whatever the rights and wrongs, our disciplinary record is abysmal and the inevitable suspensions will be a pain.
Got to be sorted.

I don't think we are a dirty team. We seem to pick up more bookings per fouls committed than anyone. I think it's a spiral where our poor disciplinary record influences referees to be stricter than they would otherwise be.

Won't we get a fine for 5 yellows on Saturday too ?

LuaLua was booked on Saturday when a Boro player smashed into him to gain the advantage but then feigned injury to con the ref. Vincelot got booked for dissent when the linesman for the second time in 5 minutes flagged for a goal kick when it was a corner. The ref ignored Tarrico being smashed to the floor , Bridcutt and Nooney being hacked down and the shirt pulling on LuaLua

I'm know we have had a few bad decisions against us but equally we have got away with a few. I also don't hold with the view that referees are out to get us or that we are a dirty team.

We play risky football at times, as Gus has admitted to and I think sometimes we are caught out and consequently we have to go in for risky challenges. Additionally quote a few of our players have made the step up and this league is a faster pace which again can lead to wayward challenges. The interesting part will be how we develop over the second part of the season.

Something he's made a living out of doing to others
