The eighth annual Albion Collectors' Fair and Auction is being staged in the Hospitality Suite at Withdean Stadium on Sunday, 22nd November 2009. The event is put on by the Albion Collectors' and Historians' Society. Admission is free.

As ever, the fair will have many tables of Albion memorabilia for sale: programmes, books, postcards, pictures, handbooks, fanzines, posters, DVDs - you name it, it's likely to be there! Light refreshments will be available thanks to the Albion Supporters' Club.

The fair opens at 11am and lasts for two hours. At around 1pm begins the auction of Albion memorabilia, which usually offers an eccentric selection of lots ranging from rare programmes and match-worn player shirts to original paintings and posters - with virtually everything in between! There is always the chance to pick up a rare item or a considerable bargain.

Jack Straw will be selling his "Falmer Watch Countdown Calendar"!

All proceeds benefit the Society in its mission to preserve and promote the history of the Albion. The Society often bids for items itself in order to preserve them with a view to displaying them in the museum at the new Community Stadium.

Tim Carder, the organiser, can be contacted by PM to The History Man. There may still be time to include special items in the auction - but please be quick. (Terms: 10% of hammer price to Society, 90% to vendor. Reserve prices may be placed.)

The auction catalogue will be available soon from Tim or at www.albionhistory.org.uk.

Match shirt worn by one of our greatest players (some would say THE greatest) at the end of what was, in one respect, our greatest season!

The catalogue for the Albion Auction on Sunday, 22nd November, is now available at www.albionhistory.org.uk.

You can place MAXIMUM bids in advance; see website for details. These will be treated as if you were present in the room bidding on the day.

The auction itself will be held at 1pm, Sunday 22nd November, in the Hospitality Suite at Withdean Stadium.

But remember, the Albion Collectors' Fair opens at 11am. We should have 11 tables selling Albion memorabilia - programmes, pictures, handbooks, fanzines, etc. Jack Straw's Falmer Watch Countdown Calendar 2010 will also be on sale.

The no.8 shirt worn by record goalscorer Peter Ward at the end of the 1977/78 football season is likely to be the star item in an auction of Brighton & Hove Albion memorabila at Withdean Stadium this Sunday, 22nd November.

The sale is the climax of a fair staged each autumn by the Albion Collectors' and Historians' Society to raise funds for projects such as the club museum in the new Community Stadium at Falmer.

The fair, which opens at 11am, will have eleven tables selling Albion memorabilia to collectors, with thousands of match programmes, pictures, DVDs, books, etc available at low prices. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available. Visitors should use Gate 21 from the main car-park.

Tim Carder, chairman of the Society, said:

"Wardy's shirt is likely to sell for £400 or more, but there are plenty of bargains to be had as well, with some auction items likely to go for as little as a pound or two.

"The fair is always a popular event which assists supporters adding to their collections while raising funds to help us preserve and promote the history of our football club."

The auction follows the fair at 1pm. The catalogue can be viewed in advance at www.albionhistory.org.uk where bids may also be left.
