The clips will be gone soon i expect. 1066 is only trying to get some footage out im sure he didn't try to offend.

Over enthusiasm can only be used as an excuse so many times.

Fair enough TGC. Least you asked in a polite way, I would have been tempted to go into one!

Personally I find it very irritating when people copy material from another website and pass it of as their own. It's just downright lazy (aside from the copyright issues). I once found a young lad who copied material from one of my websites and even used one of my photographs as a prize. It's really infuriating when you've taken the time to build a website that has some original content only for some fuckwit to steal it in an attempt to make their own pathetic efforts look good. If it's already on the internet, what is the point in repeating it on yet another site? If you have to copy other people's material you really shouldn't bother.

Seeing as TGC doesn't own the copyright to the videos anyway (can't remember him getting permission from Sky and the Football League) surely this is a bit hypocritical of him.

Not that I'm arsed anyway. Couldn't give a shit about copyright etc.

Nor can you be arsed to read his posts where he explains everything :dunce:

No, I'm not stupid thanks.

TGC claims he has contacted the club, but do you really think they own the copyright to the goals he has recorded from Sky Sports (who he hasn't asked and who wouldn't let him have them even if he did)?

:dunce:

The point is, why put stuff on another site when it's already available to anyone with internet access? There's far to many sites churning out the same old stuff copied from elsewhere. Bloody infuriating when you're searching for something different.

That wasn't the point you tried to make tho. He just tried to make it more accessable FFS if this had been done by someone else there wouldn't be nearly three pages on it.

A fair point, except ...

No, there wouldn't.

But then, in 99% of cases, the person would - or should - have said 'Sorry, I will remove it', and do so, rather than bluster their way trying to justify their unjustifiable actions and landing someone else in trouble.

If TGC is going to get into trouble, I suspect he would at least like to be able to control how it is handled.

Now go and re-read TGC's original message, 1066.

How come it's always this complete and utter DILDO's name that comes up time and time again? Has there ever BEEN a more pointless, consistently annoying poster? (Not you TGC, that would be borderline harsh  )

With jonogulls on that one. Neither of you should really be doing it (not that I really care and if you want to rip off Rupert Murodoch it is fine by me).

Yet again, you ignore half of what I said. Namely this part :-

Originally posted by The Great Cornholio
As I have said, I have checked with the club and they have an agreement with the TV companies to use their footage. They are not able to grant me copyright but have no objections - particularly given the money I have raised using this footage.

I am fully aware that I am infringing copyright - as do the vast number of users on here who cut and paste text from other websites or link to pictures without permission. But at least I am selective about what I use - as far as I am aware, none of the footage I use is currently from a current commerical source. Unlike the other 2 videos 1066 had posted which were blatantly ripped from Seagulls World.

TBH, I couldn't give a toss whether people think it is hypocritical or not. I am merely stating the terms under which I will continue to host existing and future footage. If anyone feels the need to replicate the process and publish my material elsewhere, so be it. No skin off my nose to take down the site - it would save me £50 a year and free up a lot of time. If someone is so offended by the copyright infringments, same applies. At the end of the day, it was me that spent hours getting together this footage and me that would get the Cease and Desist. If I am not in control of the footage then I am not prepared to carry on hosting it.

Hopefully this will put an end to the matter. It should and would have been a one or two post thread if 1066 had made the correct decision of respecting my wishes straight away.

He reminds of the "Pick Me, Look at Me" kid that every school has/had. Craves to be liked by everybody but succeeds in irritating the living daylights out of everybody he/she comes into contact with.
