I think we can safely say we can speak from experience !
We are fortunate to have Palace fans in charge ( at the moment) and they wouldn't allow another situation to arise like before.
The irony is Brighton fans taking the moral high ground,accusing other teams of not adhering to FFP and living above their means.
Then their chairman ,who will cover shortfall incurred, and has just voted in favour of raising the level of debt still further !

I really hate agreeing with a Palace fan who is having a dig at my club, but this point I agree with 100%. How Barber and Bloom and the board,who has it happens won the vote against everything the club had been championing for the last three years, absolutely amazed me. We as fans have been preached the gospel of FFP as being the saviour of clubs like ours, bringing down the debt, bringing down players wages. Only to find out from Barber our debt is now £1 million a month and we are paying the highest salaries in our history. Hypocrisy at its worst in my mind. ,

You miss the point that we expect the albion will obey the FFP rules.

Nothing at all wrong with criticising the clubs who break the FFP rules to cheat themselves to an unfair inflated playing budget.

Has it not crossed your mind that TB is struggling to get under the threshold, and that's why he voted in favour of an increase ?
Maybe when your next set of accounts are announced, it will become clearer.

It can't surely come as much of a surprise that a club which voted for EPPP (in the knowledge that they would be building a brand spanking new academy) now votes to give Bloom further leverage to falsely elevate its position through his subsidies.

I don't think its hypocrisy tbf. TB and PB are businessmen and although they initially tried a valiant attempt at complying they quickly realised that its almost impossible to comply to some (lets face it) arbitrary amount that is totally meaningless dreamt up by people totally divorced from trying to run a football club ie who says a 10m loss is ok, or 3m or why even use a P&L ? ok so dewpreciation is ignored under FPP but the owners still have to bear the 'real' losses ? There's no fair system that works and why shouldn't the new Abramovich turn Barnsley into the new Chelsea ? The ridiculous system in the Prem is even more stupid and is just trying to preserve the status quo of the so called Big Clubs (most of which have had massive funding over the past few years but they are trying to stop other clubs doing it !!)

Its all rubbish and it should be scrapped (especially given the main point of FPP is to stop clubs going bust which its not going to do anyway) Clubs get into trouble when the sugar daddy goes away for whatever reason not due to the amounts We went into admin over 5m but Bolton are allowed to rack up 150m debt or other clubs have massive funding and then the owner turns it into equity ie writes it off ! Its all stupid and the sooner the powers that be start to understand football finance the better

Are you absolutely sure that your club hasn't been selling its best players for large sums, replacing them with cut price players, to the backdrop of a succession of Paul Barber open letters to the fans, lamenting the costs of running the stadium, controlling losses that increase year on year, and blaming FFP for the whole sorry saga?

I'm pretty sure I've not just seen that with my own eyes, but also repeated ad nauseum by your fellow supporters on here.

I ain't got a clue what the running cost of the stadium is, but I know El Pres has stated that we are doomed, or that the Amex is a white elephant (not yet anyway).

I also know Tony has just become a director in his uncles exhibition company (regent exhibition) and is looking how viable a hotel would be. This would mean he has the platform and vehicle for increasing use of the amex. Perhaps covering the cost running the amex comes from outside football.

I think there is a big difference.
Sugar Daddies ( Bloom,Jack Walker, Abramovich) will gladly throw money at it to achieve their dream, in Blooms case, he has said this week he will cover the £10 mill shortfall each season, not a sustainable business model.
The guy linked with Palace feels it's a good opportunity to own a debt free business with a guaranteed turnover of £90 million and rising per year ( if we stay up )
He sees it as a good business proposition , whereas Bloom sees it as an very expensive hobby.

I don't believe you, if he is coming in not to spend money on you lot, then what is the point of Parrish selling Palace to him? Parish loves Palace but doesn't want to put millions into it, the only reason to sell is if someone is willing to put money into it.

Parish sees it as an opportunity to advance the club quicker than he can do.
Palace are in a good position to be taken over, and with PL taking off in the USA, CPFC is clearly an attractive proposition.
If the take over happens, clearly money will have to be spent on infrastructure and team,but with global interest in the PL, it's a good investment.

£60M for a stadium ? Are they building it in lego ? Will it meet fire regulations ? Even Grimsby Town's plans for a 14k capacity stadium/retail park/residential housing development is mooted as a £200M investment.

How can you compare the two soggy ? £20 m per stand sounds about right ( holmedale stand is fine ) . We own the land and with the local council on board it should all happen in time .
