And I personally think you'll always pick up hungrier young kids in South London rather than Sussex, purely because of the social dynamics.

Thats a view from watching only fools and horses and reading the mail. Reality is that house prices, job prospects and education are far higher in south london than placeslike newhaven, hastings, whitehawk, or even a hailsham or burgess hill. Sure lewes will be better than say peckham (Although peckham is apparently the new shoreditch) but lewes is not even close to putney for house prices or standard of living.

Either you want a cat 1 academy or you don't. If you did then financially the summer was the perfect time to get one. If it was because your training ground was too small, then I ask again, why did you buy it last summer?

Minor as in pointless technicalities, not necessarily cheap or worthwhile fixes.

Perhaps it would be more prudent for BHAFC and its fans to design a club model that can actually achieve PL status (rather than merely promise to) before sermonising about how a PL club should be run.

They are welcome. They'll pick up the best youngsters, pay to train them up, then give them back to us for free at the age of 18, when their progression is blocked by 382 African imports.

My cousins little boy has been on chelsea's book for years... they come and collect him from Burgess Hill twice a week for training etc. The family also get paid a decent fee monthly fee... hes about 11 now i think

We'll have to take your typically simplistic economic breakdown as gospel Andy. Either way, again in the real world, securing sites for training grounds etc is far more difficult than at the foot of Tony Bloom's rainbow (although many seem to forget the years of planning permission and so on). Regardless, there was talk a few months ago of a site being secured

I believe the Beckenham site was bought opportunistically because the landlord was about to vacate the site or something, rather than it being seen as a long term solution.

This category 1 noñsrnse has created a number of logistical issues which may or may not be worth tackling at this time. The academy has only been open since the summer. The 'behemoth' infrastructure is hardly 'spiralling out of control', no matter how much some Palace fans may wish it would.
