Did we nearly go for a green and black stripped away kit a couple of seasons ago? But plumped for maroon.

Pretty sure we wore that green kit when we beat West Brom in the League Cup. In those days nearly everybody's away kit was yellow.

Think we wore red shirts and blue shorts that (wonderful) night.

Have a recollection that the green kit was only worn for one season (75/6). Our away record that season -under Peter Taylor- was poor, so it wasn't viewed as an auspicious colour.

I'd really like a green & black striped second kit next year though.

I lead the campaign for the return of a green and black stripped shirt we wore too briefly(about two games)in the 70's and yes the club did settle on the crap safe(and unsellable)option of the maroon kit.It got as far as a rigged poll in the programme But as was pointed out buy others the back room KFC eaters were wearing the maroon shirt that day.
If we ever get a green and black, and it aint f***ed up like the red and black revival shirt,in the correct shades and in the right finish it will be the biggest selling away shirt ever.

did they have a poll on the website, with 4 different kits, 2 maroon and 2 green/black, i think the majority on here liked the green/black but we ended up with the crap marron one, i think it was a fix as the staff tops etc were part maroon
