Your own comment said the increase to £50 was to cover the club's costs. If so, it's not a subsidy.

What about the drivers, walkers, cyclists, short-distance travellers ? Subsidy for them ?

Anyone who 'walks' to the ground should find someone who lives on the extreme limit of the free travel and get them to pay back some money. Or move! Or even better catch a bus from the ground to a park & ride and back again to get your monies worth

Also why isn't there an ESU wings price? I'm out in A block ESU and pay the same as someone with dead central seats. If you have a wings section on the West upper, why not the East upper?

I'd understand that...i am central and would accept paying more than wings...i'll go come what may...just cut down on other things..like the odd parking in bridge car park..although i will have to deal with the new coldean parking system..match program will probably be given a miss

Kids ticket prices are amazing and the club do amazing work to attract these young fans. You will pay a lower rate until you are 18. From 18 earn your money and pay the same as the rest of us.

The diagram attached illustrates what I'm saying though...

The club's pricing chart for zone C includes reference to East Stand, yet there is no zone C colour shading on the stadium diagram, so either the diagram is wrong or the price chart is wrong.

Bozza, going off at at a tangent, I love that diagram.

It shows the stadium almost as a mini Wembley, and as a complete contrast to the basic layout at Withdean.

So it's no longer a subsidy ? It would be much more honest to scrap the 'subsidy' and let people pay their own way to get to the ground.



Are there any clubs that don't need a transport system in place ? I can't recall an away ground whereby I have not had to pay for my transport to that ground.

Out of interest, what do you make of the ticket rises, aside from the transport 'subsidy' ? Best.

Why don't the club do away with the subsidy and let fans pay their own transport costs or are they not allowed to do this due to restrictions under the original planning application ?
If I buy a ticket to the theatre or the cinema they don't pay some of my transport costs to get there.
I find it very strange that BHAFC have to absorb our transport costs.

How many other clubs are in our situation where we have inadequate areas around the ground to allow people to drive and park up locally and in big numbers? Somewhere like MK Dons for example has a massive car park and can take most of the matchday vehicles easily so they don't have the numbers needing to travel there by public transport to make what parking there is work, other clubs like Norwich have plenty of on street parking, again it's something we just don't have so we are probably the club that relies on public transport the most in this country to get our fans there, hence the emphasis placed on it.

Cant believe people are going on about the transport subsidy when this little gem has been unveiled. More than a bit naughty I think,especially as it is the more expensive areas that are getting the bigger % rises. I'd like to know the reasoning behind it.

My guess would be that some areas have been more difficult to sell out in as people have been discouraged by the price (such as the ESL wings at the south end of the ground) If they put them up by 9% then it would make it even harder to sell out these tickets hence the smaller rise and this is also probably why they are going to have category defined match prices so that the ones that have traditionally proved hard to sell as they have little appeal will be cheaper in those areas in order to try to achieve a sell out.

Went to Cardiff on Tuesday and parked right outside away entrance for £5 and that's the problem, some think they are paying for something they do not use. Well they do, money was spent on improving the surrounding areas of the Amex even for those who walk. £2 a match is not a lot of money to help pay towards the cost.

Isn't the ESU more comparable to the 1901 level of the West stand rather than the WSU in terms of how high you are? Do they pay less in the 1901 wings compared to the centre?

I can't make head or tail of it really. I'm going to have to move from my expensive seat in W1C but the plan on the club site seems to show that W1A W1B and W1D are one price and W1C another

You'd think they'd make it a little more obvious. I'm not even sure what price band I'm in ... assume it's D and the only options I can see for Zone C are the other blocks in West lower and none in East even though the label on OS says West Lower and East ... so it's all f***ed up in my world!!

That is rubbish. You start paying for a product in mar/apr or whenever and by the time the first part of the product arrives in aug you have payed 40% or so upfront anyway.

It is a loan in a way because it is something you can't cancel when you have paid only a couple of the payments, you have to commit to pay for the entire term of the agreement.

They have basically given you your st in the understanding that you will pay the outstanding balance so they have sold you something which you are yet to pay for in full so therefore you still owe the rest of the cost hence a loan by the club as they are giving you the credit to buy it rather than having to pay on a match by match basis at full price

I travel from Polegate.
Polegate to Falmer return is £7-40, x 23 matches = £170.20. No Subsidy.
Polegate to Lewes return is £6-50, x 23 matches =£149.50 plus £50 subsidy.

Really well thought out for some of us.

But i'll pay it regardless.

I also find it unfair that I have to pay £6.50 return to Lewes from Polegate when someone from Haywards Heath,which is a longer train journey away,travels for free!
