I only remember him towards the end of his career but he was a great player. RIP.

He's particularly ingrained in my memory as he formed part of my not particularly extensive early 1970s football card collection. I believe it was this one..

I don’t think there’s a player these days that is remotely similar to Gilzean. Master of the glancing header, languid in style - Berbatov came closest in recent years.

I remember him more with Chivers than Greaves but an excellent player none the less. RIP.
