Lost 4-1 to Vitesse yesterday.

And no win in 4.

But they must be LOADED now Huntelaar pocketing them 20 million and Sneijder two years ago...

How the mighty are falling in Europe. (Bayern Munich, Ajax, PSV, Chelsea, Arsenal and Scotland)

They like to develop players from the academy, unlike PS-richest-club-in-Holland-and-still-shit-V

Feyenoord though is hurting me, when will they ever be good :(

So I'm dreaming about current Dutch internationals that have come through the ranks of PSV then? Ibrahim Afellay, Otman Bakkal, Dirk Marcellis.

And I must have dreamt about the time last summer when Ajax (with that amazing youth Academy) signed PSV youth prospect Ismail Aissati and then proceed not to play him?

I'm not a PSV fan, but they'll finish this season above Ajax.
They're both crap this season, Van Basten will be out sooner rather than later.
Feyenoord will improve when they ship out the aged-crocks that run the dressing room and got the last (decent) manager sacked despite their own shortcomings.

When were Scotland ever part of Europes mighty?

I was wondering that myself, along with the question of whether there's any club in Europe that 1066Gull doesn't post about, and then I realised that there is one....Brighton & Hove Albion.

Stuff Ajax. They are now 14 points behind AZ with only 12 games left...

Looks like AZ mean business this time about becoming the first non-big-three team to win the Dutch league since they themselves (as AZ 67) did it in 1981, after royally f***ing it up on the last day of the season a couple of years ago.

And FC Twente are steaming along in second...

Ajax and PSV are both shit this year. And Feyenoord are so shit they may even be relegated if they don't buck up...

I bore so many people at uni and in town with my Brighton 'we are a good team but we are shit' I hardly dont need to reiterate it on here.

I'd suggest that instead of spending time on here prattling about every other football team on the face of the Earth, you seek professional help for your obvious gambling problem. Virtually every thread you post contains some mention of something that you're betting on or betting against or whatever else.

Sad really.

Truffles,
Roda and Fortuna are skint so they look like they're merging then.
Good thing/bad thing - death of Dutch Football as we know it?
Who's next?

Euro 2008:
Marco Van Basten in charge of the Dutch, probably most impressive team in group stages and knocked out in QF by inspired Russian side.
Steve MaClaren in charge of England, complete disaster, failed to even qualify.

So put both these managers in charge of 2 teams in the same domestic league but give Van Basten the bigger club with better players and a bigger budget. Which one is coming out on top? Surely no contest?:

It's not a popular move (imagine how we'd feel if we merged with Crawley to become FC Sussex...). But at the same time it's long been abundantly clear there are more teams in Limburg than the level of support can maintain financially. While Roda have occasionally struggled towards mediocrity, VVV, MVV and Fortuna have all been going nowhere for years.

It's the same old plastic fans effect that concentrates all the money in the hands of a few core teams. I worked in Sittard for 8 years and rarely met any Fortuna fans - more people there support Ajax, as they do pretty much everywhere outside of Eindhoven and Rotterdam.

I don't think Roda/Fortuna will be the last. Who's next? Could be almost anyone from the bottom six of the Eredivisie or anyone from the 1st division.

That's why it's great to see smaller teams like FC Twente and AZ doing well this year. Long may it last. I've lived here nearly 20 years and only seen three different teams win the league. Showing younger fans that teams from other towns can break the triopoly might be their ticket to survival.

Stuff the Dutch league. The biggest story is Hoffenheim top of the league by one point over the Mighty Bayern Munich. This is the team six years ago were in the sixth tier of German Football, the equivalent to Conference North. They're a village of 3,000 and they have just moved into a brand spanking new stadium of 30,000 and their manager comes from Southwick!!!!
