I've often wondered how the Donkey got out of the cargo hold but I suppose that's not important now .

This was hilarious.

However I didn't realise for years that it was a parody based on an actual scene in a 50's air disaster movie.

Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Capt. Oveur: I can't tell.
Rumack: You can tell me, I'm a doctor.
Capt. Oveur: No, I mean I'm just not sure.
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Capt. Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?

The extras on the Airplane dvd are pretty funny.
Peter Graves reveals a story about when a young lad kind of clocked him in a superstore years after the movie was made.
After a few mins in the checkout queue, Graves put the kiddie out of his misery and said:
“Ever seen a grown man naked?”

- which naturally horrified the youngster’s mother!

I mean that is still lol hilarious forty years later and I must have seen Airplane at least 30 times over the years. It is THE comedy film of all time, just pips Life of Brian and Blazing Saddles for me.
