Has anyone on NSC used this company to re-gas their car air-con?

Home

£37 seems a good price but would like to know if they do a good job.

Any recommendations?

Cheers.

Don't know. Mine could do with a re-gas, so I'll let you find out first.

Just had two cars regassed here in Cyprus for my brother, it is a great feeling, switching it on after having had it done, incredibly satisfying and feels like the best 30 Euros you've ever spent. Do it, you wont regret it.

I am currently getting mine ( renault Megane) done by baldocks, but if its mechanical, then they will do it under warranty....if not its £95 !!!!!

its a 56 plate and all the gas had leaked out!

Thanks for the advice, kwikfit charge £45 (assuming it has no leaks etc) and takes about an hour.
Apparently having a half charged a/c -even if it is still working- puts a geater strain on the engine increasing the fuel consumption.
Might go for the mobile service....no need to waste time hanging around The Vogue gyratory.

WOW - go elsewhere, I know I am in a different country right now, but it is 30 Euros here.

WOW, it took about 10 minutes tops to do each of 2 cars, while we waited.

Surely if it's turned off it can't do.

Well yes, but to be working (or operating if you like), as opposed to being able to work, it must be on.
And I don't mean perfoming surgery.

aircon is pointless in cars and a waste of petrol IMO especially when you'd use it only a few times in the UK, just wind down the windows and embrace natures flies instead

Right here, right now
Using Air con whilst motorway driving is more fuel efficient than motorway driving with your windows down.

It may use slightly more fuel to use aircon but the negative effect wound down windows has on the drag coefficient of a car causes greater fuel use.

Plus you can still hear the radio with aircon on!

Aircon is great to have, but I only use it on hot days in traffic or for about 5 mins after I get into a stinking hot car, other than that it's windows down when it's hot. You need to turn it on at least once a week year round for 5 mins or so to circulate it and keep all the bits from drying up or something similar. Don't use it for 6 months during the winter and it's likely to start causing problems when you do use it again...or so I've been told.

sunroof up (rather than all the way back) is the fuel efficency winner

i think the efficency loss is only a few % anyway and im pretty sure it has an effect if even not in use.

Used this guy earlier today - HIGHLY recomended and a bargain at £37 compared to the average going rate of £70 & upwards. I found him very professional and knowledgeable. Rather have him servicing my A/C than some oik from Kwikfit. ???

Kwikfit only charge £45 which is cheap by comparison to other places who use this guy, but charge their own extortionate rates. "Apparently" all Kwikfit do is top up the "stuff" (?) rather than extracting the old stale stuff out which is what this guy does. Rather like topping up a half pint of yesterdays flat lager that's sat in the glass overnight with a fresh half pint out the pump.

Well impressed.
