For those that want to demonstrate their tipping prowess, I've just set up this years competition at http://www.FantasyNags.com, and a Private League called "North Stand Nags".

To play, you simply pick a horse in each of the races during the festival and score points based on their finishing position and Starting Price.

League Name : North Stand Nags
League Number : 1001
League Password : fixtures

Those that have played previously, or are registered for the Fantasy F1 don't even need to re-register. Your existing login will do just fine.

Cheltenham is the first of 4 meetings I'll be covering in 2009, and the person who finishes top of the NSC League at the end of the year will be presented with a trophy.

It's worth bearing in mind that not all horses listed on the racecards are going to be entering into the race so it's worth checking your selections the evening before each raceday. - Non Runner = nil point.

Can't we bet on how big the carnage will be this year? Here's a few from the last couple of years to give you a ballpark figure...

Only 2 winners at Cheltenham; the bookie and the knackerman...

Nor Nor East - Heart Attack
Simondiun - Fell Dead
Hasty Prince - Fell Dead
Whispered Promises - Fatal fall
Macs Joy - Broken Leg, destroyed
Willyanwoody - Fell, broken back. Destroyed
Granit Jack - Fell. Broken neck
Paulo Dancer - Fatal fall
Decisive - Pulled up Lame. Destroyed
Rose Of The Shires - Collapsed and died
Swift Thyne - Fell, spinal Injury. Destroyed
Little Brick - Pulled up, broken shoulder. Destroyed

What i know about horses you could write on the back of a horse, though i have heard from a bloke in the pub who knows a bloke from another pub whos nephew knows a stable lad of a horse named carruthers that will win some race or another next week, added interest will be the fact that it will be ridden by local lad Mathew Batchelor.
I may chuck away a quid on it on the odd chance that the roundabout tip was infact boney fiddly

excellent - picked up a few handy tips already as well as three pints due to the fact he couldnt remember if he had bought me one from a delightfully pissed irish man in the pub earlier today, and it was only just gone midday

the best week of the year by a MILE

Always forget how tricky it is to actually make any selections on that site. There doesn't seem to be a 'Make Your Selections Here' button anywhere so far as I can see.

So, to save anybody else having to scrub arround the site for ten minutes trying to find out how to make any selections, here is THPP's step-by-step guide to making your entries:

Step 1 - Login
Step 2 - Click on your username to the left of the green strip at the top of the page
Step 3 - Click on 'View My Entry'
Step 4 - Select a race

You have not been charged for this service.
