After a few tries today, i just managed to log onto the ticket website. I have 1000 points (2011/2012 season ticket holder) so I will therefore be able to get tickets for the Tottenham and Gills games next Wednesday as thats how they are prioritising it. I looked at my purchase history and it says both those games and then "reserved" next to them (i hadn't clicked anything at this point), with my season ticket seat number. My question is: If they are reserving the seats for me anyway, why do I have to wait till next wednesday to actually purchase the tickets (assuming i do)?

You don't , go to reserve my seat or something like that and can purchase them now. The system is a little messed up at the mo.

I figured it would be a bit glitched, but why would they say people with 1000 or more points can purchase tickets NEXT wednesday?

Maybe they are trying to spread out the tickets sales/concurrent users so that the system does not get over whelmed....just a thought:thumbsup:

Ah, that would probably be it. And to the other person, I think they have fixed the issue now as I tried to click reserve my seats and then proceed to checkout but it kept returning to the same screen and saying error.

Because there is a limited capacity for both games. If they let all new STH holders and Withdean STH buy seats at the same time, there's a chance that the Withdean/Higher Loyalty fans would not get their seat as the capacity would be hit before everyone had been able to reserve their seat and there would be binfest about the JCLs etc etc. By allowing all WSTHs (1250) get their seat first, they'll then open up the remaining seats to all ASTHs (1000) to grab their seat. It's the limited capacity for these first few games that is causing the issue. In the future, for cup games with a normal capacity, everyone will have a chance to get their seats before they go on general sale to non-STHs.

The prioritising will still apply to away games though.

Your current ST seat will be reserved until you buy it or they reach the maximum attendance for the match (10k for SSC, 17k for Spurs). I would imagine you could get one if your quick on Wednesday.

It has probably been done this way to reward those who also had a season ticket last season, making it more likely they get one if they want rather than allowing all ST holders at the Amex to scrap it out whether they are a new fan or someone who has had a ST for years. (would the system cope?)

Btw - How many ST holders did we have last season? (giving us a rough idea how many could have 1250+ points)

last season when I puchased seats on line it reserves the seats for about 15mins-30mins and then allows you to add more etc and if you then proceed with the order all is fine, If for some reason you do not complete the order and log back on and try to get the same seats it would allocate you different if the ones you had selected had been sold between the time you first reserved and that time ran out > you know what I mean or am trying to say anyway.

I too only had 1000 point but I also bought the lease option for my seat. I went into my reserved tickets and was able to purchase the Tottenham and Gillingham tickets and even print off my receipt.

Was it around the 5,500 figure ? Matchday tickets last season were often in short supply according to all those threads where individuals counted up the unsold seats available online every 5 minutes.
