Yeah I guess not at all with Wimbledon being in inner London and Palace right on the edge. The combined populations of the London boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Sutton and Kingston are around a million but only ever one league club, crazy really

Got a soft spot for Bromley. I went to Hayes Lane to see them thrash Halifax 5-0, the same day England beat N.Z in the rugby World Cup semi final. All second half goals that I thankfully saw up close after changing ends at half time.

An old school experience at the standing end. A lad with a drum doing a reasonable job in creating a lively atmosphere. Some young Halifax fan nearby in the away end giving it the biggun' and getting a fair amount back from the home end.

Decent set up. Hopefully they'll become a Football League club sooner or later.

Would be great to see them join the league, I've not seen Hayes Lane since they put up the new stand but it always look to have plenty of potential, loads of character and quite a big plot.

Would also love to see the likes of Dulwich Hamlet, Carshalton and tooting and Mitcham grow, although any of them playing league football seems unlikely in the near futhre

what are Sutton going to do with their artificial surface? It feels wrong to me that they're forced to dig it up, especially when a lot of pitches at Prem level are 50% artificial in places

Being born in Sutton, I always have an eye on their results, really glad they're doing well. My Dad took me to watch the FA Cup tie after their Coventry win, it was away to Norwich, think they got thrashed 7-0 if memory serves.. it may have been by more though.

EDIT: 8-0

Same :)

Went to GGL a few times when I lived locally in Cheam. The only stadium I’ve visited that would make Withdean look like Wembley! Great supporters though and an enjoyable experience.
Good luck to them and I hope they get promoted.

Have seen Sutton quite a few times over the years and love to see them do well. Suburban South London is poorly represented by league clubs so would be great to them in the football league.

Gander Green Lane whilst having its charms is quite a poor stadium IMO, be interesting to see how or if they develop should they go up.

And nobody represents them more poorly than . . . . . you can guess the rest.

Couldn't resist.

A month on and I still fancy Torquay to win the title. Looks like Sutton have bottled it after having such a huge lead and will surely be caught soon. Their pitch could hold all-weather racing though. :)
