I am just starting an agenda here, but Zonal Marking is the difference if we defended set plays man to man as under Hughton we’d be top 6. Overheard someone on well in the queue for the train tonight say we have always in the premier league been far better first half of the season. Hopefully it’s a swap this time, because if it’s not we might be slightly doomed.

I'm starting to worry for the first time this season that we are in trouble. We are a very good team and Bissouma is glorious but the Premier League is brutal. I think if we had a new keeper, similar to Pope and a more clinical striker to partner Welbeck, we'd be top ten.

We have scored in every PL game bar home to Burnley. Goals scored is not the main issue. It is defending, particularly set pieces ( must be in double figures now ) We do not have strong dominant CB's. Dunk has lost his focus and is running around like a headless chicken. White and Webster aren't strong enough in the air....oh...sorry....forgot.....thats not why they are in the side. Its for their ball carrying abilities out of defence. We have a small keeper and a midget at RB.
Hughton built the team around a strong fortress at the back...Dunk, Duffy, Murray, Stephens, Hemed etc. Teams found it difficult to score set pieces against us and we were more dangerous ourselves at the other end of the field. Now we are incapable of keeping clean sheets.

It’s a results business & with all that money in the top flight - could BHA ‘afford’ to drop down to the Championship?

Not strengthening up front, relying on Connolly as a centre forward is not going to keep you up.
Sloppiness at the back too.
Difficult times. Who knows we could go to Leicester & nab a win?

Stats don’t lie. We are not progressing the way some people think we are.

Nice but ineffective performances don’t get you any bonus points.

At our current points rate we should be able to get to 34 points this season which I reckon will keep us up. Still 3 worse teams than us IMO. Sure, it's going to be close but I'm positive we can stay up.

But we weren’t very good at defending set pieces in the Premier League under Hughton either, everyone forgets that because it doesn’t suit their agenda.

Ryan and Dunk are the common denominators and maybe should be looked at more than the system or manager.

Zonal defending is for high quality clever players . . . . ours are not on the same level as the players they're defending against.

our pipsqeak strikers are not quite weapons grade either.

I think we're better than we've ever been but the bar keeps going up. We are not clinical, we're too nice and keep getting punished

VAR not helping either.

The points total on its own isn’t that helpful without knowing who we have played in those first 11 games. What would be more useful is to see how many points we have/had against the predicted tracker. That’s a better measure as it’s less reliant on the fixture list.

If you look at our starting line ups from the last 4 years, the best team we've had in any season is this one. No question.

However, all the time PL teams are given £100's of millions a year in TV money, our opponents will be able to continually improve as well.

We've clearly improved. Our competitors have improved, it seems, a little bit more than us
